I broke up with my ex almost 6 years ago and I still to this day talk to his family every day.. I make sure to call them.. I am married and my husband has no problems with me still contacting his family.. Hey nothing wrong with the family if they dind't cause the break up right?

I have just because I WAS raised that way.I also have a child and that is part of there family as well.Were you married to this person or just partners. I think marriage is a little different and definitely having a child makes a huge difference. Don't close the door , just minimize the contact and definitely don't burn the bridge because you never know when you might have to cross that bridge again. Life is to short to have negative feelings.It's really o.k.

Sure! I see nothing wrong with it. My ex-husbands family is still very good to me, and we didn't even have children together. I think it often depends on the circumstances of the break-up. If you did your ex wrong it's not likely his family will want to be buddies with you, but in my case he was just irresponsible (which they knew) and a little on the lazy side, so I left and divorced him. Things didn't get too nasty because I didn't want anything from him other than OUT of the marraige! They still treat me like family today, and we've been divorced 3 yrs.

Yes - if children are involved this is very important to the children. Relatives are relatives even after divorce.

HI,,, i have a friend that was married to a young lady i grew up with... they divorced and she re-married and had some children... my friend ,,, is still a visitor to their home... I always thought that was strange.....

yes i still keep in touch with the ex-mother in law, i dont like her but she gets wicked skunk and roll's the meanest joint you ever seen' we normallyhave a good chat and puff in the park.
