Well, I have a tabby now, and my little girl's (Goldie, she is adopted of course, but I love her like a daughter because I took care of her since she was 3 weeks old) papa I believe was an all black cat named Salem, who happened to be abandoned by one of the cat hoarders in my area (her mother was a long haired Tortoiseshell of course because that is what my girl is). Her papa was my friend, I fed him and took care of him, I wanted to take him and neuter him, but I think someone had beat me to that because he did not mark his territory like other males did. In fact, he was almost human. I love cats not matter what, but the ones I am not too happy about because they look so unnatural are the Sphinx and the Rex's, it is just not right for a cat to not have little to no hairs at all. It is wrong to me. I love both Tabby's and Pure Blacks. I know all about the Black Cat stereotypes and I know they are not true, because if it were not for my cats that I have known and taken care of, I would be more of a mess than I am now. My cats saved my life.

I have had both......mackeral and white tabbies orange ande white tabbies and black and white tabbies aka tuxedos...all of whom had a father who was a 17 lb text book definition of black........orange eyes and less than six white hairs. I like both
because they have different personalities...black cats are usually friendly and tabbies are usually a little more territorial. None of mine were nuetered......i suggest not nuetering until at least a year old to let their true personality develop.

I'd have to say black since I have had three over the years. Current one is Rommie who was found abandoned when she was 4 weeks old too. Of course tabbies are good too since I have one of those too. A 20 pound orange Maine Coon mix.

I'd take either one actually. I have a black one, and she's my favorite. I know you shouldn't have favorites, just like kids. but she and I are like close. She was rescued. Someone threw her out a car window when she was 4 weeks old. I found her, got her all fixed up, and she's been my Lucky Girl ever since.
