If so, do people also need to admit their transgression before I forgive them?
Mat 18:15
"If your brother sins, go and show him his fault in private; if he listens to you, you have won your brother.
"But if he does not listen {to you,} take one or two more with you, so that BY THE MOUTH OF TWO OR THREE WITNESSES EVERY FACT MAY BE CONFIRMED.
"If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, let him be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector.

Does the Christianity being taught today reflect this or to just forgive no matter what?

I think we are too concerned as christians today about the "feel good" christian faith. Not all, but many churches emphasize this God loves u anyway mentallity. I think most of this is put into play b/c preachers are scared for their jobs. They don't want to irritate the wrong person or next week they might be preaching in a 10 person church. Call a sin a sin, remind people what hell's gonna be like, and point fingers at sin, not the sinner! People, take heed, If you sin, NEWSFLASH, God doesn't care about excuses! If He says its wrong then its wrong. And about repentance, of course God requires repentance for forgiveness. Go to a concordance and look up the word repent and repentance, and read all the versus that speak of repentance. Without repentance there cannot be forgiveness. Repentance is a never ending process. We will always be sinning, therefore, always be repenting. And when we truly repent and are sorry, and turn from that sin, then he will be true to forgive us. The churches as a whole need to remember this and start pointing more fingers.

I believe this scripture has to do with fellow Christians and how things are done between church members. It has more to do with rules of a church and not exactly how God forgives.

We all do things now and then that we know we shouldn't. We might tell a small lie to get something we want, or maybe some other thing we don't even realize we did until later when we think about it. We are all like this. It can't be helped. So I believe the biggest thing is to believe God forgives you. Trust that he will even more than anybody. It's just that simple.

I believe it is all just as simple as Love your neighbor (all people), and treat others like you would like them to treat you.

This is only my opinion. I don't claim to be an expert on these things.

specific to the two questions. placed "repent" and "forgive" right into a Bible seek engine and you will discover gospel passages like those: Mark a million:4 (see additionally Luke 3:3): And so John got here, baptizing interior the wasteland area and preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins. John the Baptist taught that forgiveness demands repentance--and Jesus submitted to baptism to form how we are to repent. His ministry began with the message, "Repent, for the dominion of heaven is handy." Luke 17:3: "in the experience that your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him. If he sins against you seven instances in an afternoon, and 7 instances comes back to you and says, 'I repent,' forgive him." observe that repentance is often the situation for forgiveness. people who do not repent, like people who won't forgive others, are actually not forgiven. Luke 24:40 seven: Repentance and forgiveness of sins would be preached in his call to all international locations, beginning at Jerusalem. yet is penance required? examine out the story of Zacchaeus in Luke 19: yet Zacchaeus stood up and pronounced to the Lord, "look, Lord! right here and now I provide 0.5 of my possessions to the damaging, and if I somewhat have cheated unquestionably everyone out of something, i will pay back 4 instances the quantity." Jesus pronounced to him, "immediately salvation has come to this residing house, by using fact this guy, too, is a son of Abraham." It replaced into the reparation for sin in returning the stolen funds that signaled that Zacchaeus replaced into severe approximately repentance. Repentance isn't in basic terms announcing sorry. It encompasses a conviction which you have completed incorrect, a determination to not proceed in wrongdoing, and a willingness to do what's achieveable to mitigate the wear and tear that replaced into completed. After Christ came, it was more about the spirit of the law than the letter of the law. You could probably manipulate any verse to where you can hold onto your anger/ bitterness/ whatever...and blame it on him, but you are hurting yourself. Forgiveness should be given as a gift from you, whether he asks or not. If you need to talk it over with him, then do so, but play nice.
One of the disciples asked in the N.T. whether or not 7 times was enough to forgive his brother of offenses, (I guess he thought he was being generous.) However, Jesus said to forgive 70 x 7... thus taking into consideration the verse that says to love thy "neighbor as thyself," and the one that says if we don't forgive, we can't be forgiven by God. Who of us don't want to be forgiven???

This is telling us not to judge one another. We are supposed to forgive each other no matter what. This is just saying that if we find fault with a Christian brother or sister we should go to the person first with love in our hearts and not gossip behind their back.

Yes he requires repentence, which actually means to start a new life with Christ. You also need to repent of your sins, ask for forgiveness, and "confess" your sins before our Heavely Father. No one goes to the Father but by me. Christ our Lord and Savior.

Yes God does require repentence. Why would He forgive you if you weren't sorry that you did something and wouldn't do it again. To repent means to be sorry AND to promise never to do it again. It does not just mean that you are sorry.

This is really tough. It all depends on your own personal beliefs and what you feel is right. You can't count on everything in the Bible; you have to live for yourself and learn things as you go. God is out there; he forgives all sins. He loves everyone and everything.
