Outside of Farenheit 9/11? Because he has done a bunch of movies, a TV show and written books. I personally think he has the balls many people don't have. Keep in mind, I never saw Farenheit, but I saw Bowling for Columbine, Roger and Me, saw a couple of his HBO shows, and read one of his books. I also live in automation alley, and remember how he stuck up for the working class when the big 3 shafted them...

I never rented those movies in the documentaries section. And I can't get past the title. Sounds like someone making money off someone they supposedly hate.

Chris, I know what people's oopinions are on Moore. All I see is the other side of it, as you can see from the answers. I don't need to read a book on it, or 'wake up'. We have differing opinions on him. I hope that is OK with you.

I recommend the book "Michael Moore is a Big Fat Stupid White Man" by David T. Hardy and Jason Clarke. If you can get past the title, the authors explain to you how Moore twists facts and deceives his viewers in his so-called "documentaries" (they don't address "Fahrenheit" much, as the book came out before the movie did). It's not just opinion either - they back up all their sources. Give it a thorough read, and see if you still have the same opinion of him.

Edit: You can't get past the title? So you're unwilling to see the other side of an issue just because of what the book is called? As for someone making money off someone they supposedly hate, I guess that would explain why Moore had shares in Halliburton, even as he denounced them?

Wake up, Heidi. There's more to the man than meets your eye, and it ain't pretty.

I was not a big fan of Fahrenheit 9/11 but Bowling for Columbine was very good. I don't know Michael Moore personally but I respect him for what did for those kids that got shoot in Columbine. Speaking of Columbine, they found plans from those crazy kids to take planes and fly them into buildings in major city's. Why did our government stand up in font of the world on national TV and tell us that they could have never imagined that people would fly planes into buildings. If kids could imagine it why not the "Smartest" minds in our government. After I heard Rice say that I knew something was wrong in our government.

wish i could talk to him .IT seems he represents a particular view of things and looks for a deeper meaning in everything .
HE is usually on the side of the underdog or those harmed by current societal ills .
HE took on the white house and bush and did a convicing job of portraying the 9-11 attacks and the result .
MOST people do not want to accept the ugly truth to what moore has asserted. THEY call him a crack pot or liberal left wing film maker . HE does it appears to have a slight "slight bias "to the truth rather then a particular main stream view of things .
PEOPLE want to over look the bad things in our society so if the finger of moore come's in your direction then you better be honest with your self and admit you subscribe to a certain view of things .

he's funny. he portrays himself as more of a john wayne than he really is, but at least he's doing something. he is VERY good at what he does, i.e. presenting a picture of an issue that will rile people up, all while keeping a light-hearted tone, lest anyone take him too seriously. 'The Big One' is one of his best films. he takes on nike for its use of sweatshops in places like east timor and its refusal to have shoe factories in the united states. through the magic that is michael moore, he manages to get a face-to-face interview with phil knight, the ceo of nike. moore asks him why nike continues to have factories in east timor given its human rights record while thousands of unemployed people in detroit want to make nike shoes. knight's face at that instant makes the movie.

i've seen some tv nation and the awful truth. they're both funny, but i like michael moore better when he's on a big project, like in the big one or bowling for columbine.

and personally, i don't give a damn if that was a cheap shot taken at charlton heston. first of all, his alzheimer's wasn't made publicly known until after that movie was released. secondly, heston's the one who threw the crazy race talk into the conversation. thirdly, it just made the point that much clearer--look at who is the figurehead of the gun lobby: a senile man who thinks violence in america is the result of ethnic diversity. moore made his point and won his battle.

He's one of the most arrogant, self-important jerks I've ever seen! He's got the balls that most people don't have, but I wouldn't want them. It's nothing to be proud of, though he sure does think there is. His movies are basically "the world according Michael aren't I fabulous Moore."

I have seen Bowling for Columbine and Roger and Me and Farenhiet 911. I make it a purpose to expose my self to other people's views such as Mr. Moore. I personally think he is a crackpot who takes people words out of context. he is being sued by a soldier for potraying the soldier as if he was against the war, which is not what he said.

Also, he needs to learn how to bathe.

Yeah, he's excellent at making incredibly biased "documentaries" and selectively leaving out important information. ex: Interviewing a senile Charles Heston when his health and mental state are clearly altered to try and prove a point. He is also excellent at eating.
