whats this mean?

last night my BF wanted to ask me a personal question..he asked me if it was true that i had multiple sclerosis....i was like WHAT?!?!?!
he got completely embarresed and said nevermind, he must have heard it wrong. when i asked him where he heard it, he said never mind it didnt matter and he wouldnt tell me!!

whats up with that? doeas that mean i have symptoms of MS or is my BF an idiot?

I say he's an idiot and does not even know what MS is. You can have MS for a while before symptoms start to set in and they are so much like other diseases that only a blood test will confirm the diagnosis. Perhaps he has heard rumors about you and meant something else entirely, but I would definitely try and found out what the heck he was talking about.

It could mean that your BF noticed something about you that may have seemed similar to MS. Especially if he has ever known anyone else who has had it.

It could also mean that someone else mentioned to him that they think you have it. Either way, if it worries you that much, you should ask your dr. about it.

I had asthma for years and didn't know, yet everyone around me did. I kept getting told that I sounded and acted asthmatic, and finally I got tired of it all (I saw absolutely nothing wrong with me because I was so use to the way I breathed and how my body worked), so I went in and had them run tests so I could tell people they were wrong, only to find out that I did indeed have moderate to severe asthma and had had it for quite awhile.

It never hurts.

Most importantly though, talk to the BF. Let him know that you are not upset about what he said, but that it concerns you that he or someone else may have noticed something about your health that you did not. Tell him that in order for you to understand fully if there might be something wrong, you need to know what prompted that question, and you need the full truth of it.

If you and he can discuss it and he tells you what prompted it, you might be able to either alleviate his worries, or at the very least, you have something a bit more solid to take to your dr. when you speak to him/her.

Like I said though, don't attack the BF. Just talk to him honestly.

Perhaps he misheard PMS as MS? There are any number of things he could have heard. At least he had the guts to ask you before spreading it around. He's not an idiot if he just heard something wrong.

I would just straight out tell him that you don't have MS and ask him again if he heard it from someone or if he has some concern about some observations he has made about your health. The only way you are going to get this question answered is being open with him about it. However, from what you have written, it seems to me perhaps he heard it from someone and interpreted what they said incorrectly or someone has misinformation about you and is spreading it around.

He obviously was told by someone that you had MS. When you said, "WHAT!?!", he realized that it was most likely a rumor. You might want to let him know if you do or not and then ask him who told him.
