Questioning your faith and comparing it to other's opinions is the best way to grow, learn, and strengthen your own beliefs.
It is endlessly fascinating to people because faith (or lack thereof) is the one thing in this world that is truly and purely subjective.

I think since 9/11 especially, people are turning to spirituality for for answers. But, just the opposite is also occuring: people are turning away from the faith. So my answer is that the constant fascination may stem from fear. Fear of the unknown, fear for the future. We want to know where others stand in their faith and how it helps them through their bad times and good times.
Hope this helps.

Well.....I suppose it's just curiosity. To see what other people think. The people who are asking these questions may be insecure in their own faith and are looking for help and explanations.
Other religions may be looking for something that will fill them further. Etc.
It's one of the most controversial issues out there...it's doesn't surprise me that it's such a popular topic. :o)

Inherently, human beings expect more out of life. In their need to find this 'more' they seek. In seeking they naturally wish to open doors otherwise not commonly understood. When answers to common situations seem obvious then the mind seeks to know the unknowables. God is that next question.

The more people agree, the more "right" they feel they are, the more secure they feel being WHO they are.
Welcome to the illusion.
God is God no matter what any of us think or believe.

Well many ask but I say----
Do you have to "see to believe" if God exist or do you want to "believe to see"???
Fascination with faiths is not important, what is imprtant is one's life saved--

People of weak faith need to have others believe as they do in order to feel more secure.

I think because they are looking to believe in God themselves but just aren't very sure, or maybe they are just questioning which is pretty normal.
