Anti-depression drugs do help, but after while your body starts to become used to them, like any medication. That's why after a while my doctor switches me. That's the way it works, unfortunately.

the reason why antidepressants become ineffective is because antidepressants don't work.

if you think of all the viral infections out there today and know what they can do to how the chemical proccess in the brain works, you would understand.

Depression is caused by bacteria or viral infections. Just changing how the chemicals work in the brain may work for a little while, but then be ineffective after some time. Heck, even some medications don't work.

If you or a loved one is diagnosed with any form of depression, I'd consult a doctor to run extensive labs first....then go from there.
