When I had my appendix taken out, the doctor was dressed as a pirate. He had an eyepatch and a hook, and kept saying things like "aaaarrrghhhh!"

Scared me half to death.

I had to go to the hospital and get electrodes implanted on my brain so my doctors could see where my seizures came from. and when they figured that out, they took that part of the brain out.when I was recovering, I had a humongoid black eye, and every time I tried to eat an ice cube Id throw it up. the coolest part was when they sent electrical currents through my brain and made my finger twitch.

Also, I had a WADA test. that's where they took this tube, stuck it into an inscision in my crotch, it went all the way up to my brain through this little vein, and then they put half my brain to sleep. I don't know what the point of it all was.

If you're looking for a miserable time, look no further.

When I had a knee surgery, the cup that knee cap sits in was completely flat so I would dislocate my knee fairly often, so on the day of the surgery I had a fever, and they couldn't postpone the surgery any longer (it was cancelled twice before) so I was sick on top of it, the surgery included braking my tibia and using a piece that broke off as a wedge and then reconnected the ligaments and kneecap with screws. That hurt like hell.

I was having a procedure called cryosurgery done in the doctors office. To say the least, it was extremely uncomfortable. As the doctor was letting my cervix thaw out, so he could refreeze it again, he said to my then husband "Hey, come down here, have you ever seen this thing with ice chips on it before"? I never went back to that doctor again!

Having a hysterectomy! It's embarrassing, 'cause you know where they have to look to put the incision in the "bikini area" The pain you feel after waking up is horrible! I had 2 kids w/out any drugs & that wasn't as painful as the surgery!

Having foot bone surgery was by far the worst pain I had ever felt. C-Sections were a breeze compared to that foor surgery.

Probably when the epidural anesthetic wore off towards the end of my C-section. I told the doctor, "this feels really bad!" and he said "It won't feel so bad after I get your uterus back in." That didn't exactly make me feel any better!! After a while, instead of putting in more anesthetic, they gave me so much demerol it made me want to puke.

this is actually a phlebotomy story. on a single trip to have my blood drawn i was stuck so many times i lost count. why is still a mystery to me since my veins seem pretty darned prominent to everyone else. in the end, the tech who finally found a vein broke a needle off in it.

so yeh ... that was fun.
