Just listen. I have gone through that and if you are not in the same line of work it is hard to relate. So just be a very good listener maybe offer a few suggestions for coping but not an opinion if you have not worked in the same area before.

Look at it as a positive instead of a negative, yes I don't know all the details but I have been in a situation like that, life brings changes either good or bad, maybe they thought your spouse would be an asset at this other dept. I don't know but just make sure your spouse knows that at the end of the day you will be there for him and tell him to look at it as change is good and maybe it will lead to something better. Or you can also try saying maybe he is so respected at work that he is needed in other dept. and this could turn out to be a good challenge.

This is one of those situations where all you can do is be there for him and support his decisions. Hes the only one who can truly figure out this position and what to do about it as he is the one who eventually has to do it. Knowing hes coming home from work feeling stressed out because of it, just dont add to his stress with little problems. Just let him know youre there is more than enough. And you need to be ready for him to unleash his stress out on you knowing thats all it is and nothing personal against you so you wont begin to have marital problems because of his work. Wives have a special way of making their husbands forget about their work when theyre at home and I doubt if youre any different; just use your imagination, but dont do it everyday or he will become spoiled. Telling him to quit his job before hes ready to do so or has another lined up is not a good option here at this time either. Just be prepared for anything to happen. Good luck

The main thing is to tell him the stuff you should tell him anyway. That you love him and respect him. That you are glad he's your man and that you're his woman. That you desire him. And, let him know that if he wants to change jobs, that you're behind him.

Other than that, a little surprise every now and then will help -- sexual and non-sexual.
