Student Loans are not based on credit they are based on need.

Go to www.fafsa.ed.gov and apply.

On this application you will tell it the schools you are interested in and they will send the information to the schools.

FAFSA will figure up a number called the Family Contribution. This number is used in some formula at the schools to compute how much GRANT (not paid back), subsidized loan (the govt pays the interest until you graduate and unsubsidized loan (the interests builds up).

There are also many scholarships available. Call the financial aid department of the college(s) you are interested in for help with any of this!

Reply , that's sort of good that their credit is bad.....that means you submit a financial aid request first to get a loan in their names.....called a Parent Plus Loan.If there credit is truly bad....they will deny you, and inform you that you qualify for a student loan....which is good, you won't have to pay interest on the unsub part, but you will for the sub...either way you pay nothing til' you graduate or drop out of school. And you lack of credit history doesn't matter.....you'll qualify....take it from someone who just graduated from college...I know

If your parents can show proof they have a lot of debt payments, it may allow you to get more aid.
