are all 8 pin din plugs wired up the same or do i need an adapter to fit my audi

It depends on the brand of head unit- you should look for one with that same brand and series of interface- not any 8-pin will plug in and if it did, it may not be wired the same if its not from the same "bus series" or interface series...

Thats right. Some hu's come with a built in control for your cd changer but it has to be the same brand. The sell "universal" ones that connect via radio signal but those dont have a clean a clear cd reproduction to them.
