Another good question.

I did. On one hand it was an excellent education. On the other, perhaps because I moved there in 10th grade and because it was a group of rich kids that had been together for years (sons and daughters of prominent members of state government, doctors, lawyers, etc) it was very clique-ish. Outsiders were not welcomed...at one point I was wearing a golf shirt and I was asked "Where's your alligator (as in Izod)?" High School is a tough time for any teenager, but that make it more difficult. My friends at school were the other kids that had relocated and started school there before elementary school.

I went to a Catholic one. I had spent all of middle school and most of my elementary school in public school. People were more accepting there. Bullies were kept more in check. More people actually wanted to learn something. You had to be in to it though. You had to give it a chance. There were haters there and I felt bad for them and for their parents who put up the money to send the kids to a place they did not want to go.

My high school experience was great and I am glad I did not attend the public school. If I had to do it over again, I would pick it.

I did.

It depends on the school and your social status.

Don't go to a rich kids school if you are not rich. Make sure the social level is the same as yours.
If you overcome this hurdle, you will enjoy it very much over public high school.
