Regular..

An LCD screen can easily get an image burned into it's screen (think leaving your computer on and not having a screen saver)

it's not called burning, it's called image persistence

the only type you need to worry about is getting HDTV, regardless if you pick LCD, DLP or Plasma the best picture will be on an HDTV. Plasma has a little more problem with burn-in than the LCD's but they keep making them better and better to where most newer models won't have this issue. I have been looking at getting a new TV now for the past 6 months (doing research etc...) and find I still have no clue which one would be better. Plus the longer I wait the less they cost, Just saw an ad for a 40" Samsung LCD, they just dropped the price another $500, it's only $1699 now. The key is to look before you buy, get the one that you think has the better picture.

If you're comparing an HDTV LCD vs. an HDTV CRT of the same size, then I'd go with a CRT. You'll get better black levels and no motion blur at all on a CRT. LCDs have improved significantly in these two areas but they are still no match for a CRT. However, you are limited in size if you go CRT as the largest widescreen HDTV CRT that's being made is 34". You can get an LCD as large as 57". Plasmas go even larger.

By the way, it's not LCDs that suffer from potential burn in, it's Plasmas. I wouldn't worry about burn in on newer plasmas as that has been greatly improved by the manufacturers anyway.

if by a regular tv you mean a non-hd tv then i would suggest an lcd because those tv are usally capable of receiving hd signal from you xbox, (the 360 was made to be played on an HDTV)

LCD (she is thinking CTR based TVs (51")I have one and it will burn a image on the screen if u leave it on a image for 30 min.) It's has HD and it's probably wide screen and having a big HD wide screen TV is a big advantage on xbox live.
