No. Neither Blu on HD, nor HD on Blu. The Blu ray hardware is much more complex and expensive than the HD. So you will never be able to buy an HD player that will play Blu disks.
Now it is possible that you could get a Blu ray player that will play HD, since it is so much easier to play an HD disk. But the Blu ray companies won't do this until they start to lose the disk wars.

Not at the moment. Each format is different, it's kinda like Beta and VHS tapes. So one won't play the other. Maybe in the future.
