I'm new in town. He's lived here forever. We had a couple of great conversations so I asked him out. He always tells me how shy and nervous he is but, for a couple of weeks, we flirted a little. We went out twice.

Then there was a big gathering of people in our town. I'm a little shy myself, but I seem to compensate by being too loud and too nice and too flirtateous in a crowd. In front of him, I chatted up some strange guys. I thought I was just being friendly, taking some pressure of of him, but he started to leave. I asked him if I was making him uncomfortable and his response was that I was 'too nice' and he's just not used to it. I saw him once since and there was some tension.. we tried to chat, but I felt his demeanor just close up. My question is ... is this a blown situation? Or should I tell him that I really do like him and apologize for my odd behavior? Or something else? He's so sweet..and once there was some spark... I hate to see this just fizzle.

Well, I'm not understanding how you're shy and were able to flirt with a lot with men in a loud manner... but, what I would find most upsetting is that you were with me. As a shy person, I may not be very loud, but once I get to know you, I can open up to you. Honestly, I would try and apologize, but don't mention that you feel your shy. Otherwise, live, learn, and move on.

DONT apologize.... You are a naturally flirty kind of person. If he cant understand that and accept it... Find someone who can. Dont change yourself for any guy. Im the exact same way, Flirty by nature. My husband understands it and accepts it and doesnt try to change me. This guy just isnt right for you. Good luck

Talk to him about it. You shouldn't apologize. you didn't do anything. you just need to talk to him face to face and see why he reacted the way he did. Just say 'I want the truth"
