Then when they get big enough and scary enough, war is just inevitable?

People start wars. Most religion as far as I know is pretty much love your neighbor, higher thinking type stuff. People go crazy saying their religion is better than someone else's then wars start.

Religions peacher love, tolerance,and peace,but they are the sword of the extremists and backed by their leaders. So not even extremists... the pope commended and formed the Knights Templar to regain Jerusalem from the "infidels" and most would consider the pope to not be an extremist. It is just something that most religions go through and hopefully will one day learn from. Judging frommany of the posts that I see, they haven't yet.

I completly agree with you its the extremist that take religon to a place where they look like the supream ruller that it becomes a problem.
