Joseph Stalin killed 20 million soviet citizens 1929-1939 because they weren't politically correct. Him being an atheist, this was then an atheist lead attrocity. What do you think about these quotes he made?
“Death is the solution to all problems. No man - no problem.”
Joseph Stalin quote
“Ideas are far more powerful than guns. We don't allow our enemies to have guns, why should we allow them to have ideas?”
“If the opposition disarms, well and good. If it refuses to disarm, we shall disarm it ourselves.”
“Gratitude is a sickness suffered by dogs.”
“The only real power comes out of a long rifle.”
“The death of one man is a tragedy. The death of millions is a statistic.”
Is it safe to say then, that crazy people are everywhere, including in atheism? Not all of them are of course, just like not all christians are crazy like abortion clinic bombers or david koresh, the davidian cult leader.

In September 1894, he continued his education in an orthodox seminary in Tiflis (modern Tbilisi). “It was in protest against the cruel regime and godless methods of the seminary that I became a revolutionary,” he said later.Although he always remained an atheist, his religious education left a big mark on him. Often in his speeches he employed oral techniques used in the church, he also said that the church taught him to understand people.

Yes - he was insane and a secular fundamentalist. The whole problem is ego/self, whether it's present in a religious context or not.

Look - if we start comparing those who have died in the name of atheism with those who have died in the name of Christ, your side is going to come out looking the worse for wear. But just so we're clear, atheism might have been the official policy of the Communist Party, that didn't mean all communists were atheists - not in the former Soviet Union, and not in the present People's Republic of China.
Stalin himself believed in God. He actually attended a seminary.
Maybe you're trying to say that people aren't just killed over religion - and I would agree with that.
Maybe you're actually trying to start a real discussion, but I don't think you are. Your questions are attacks on atheists. You don't want to talk to us. You want to yell at us.
I may not believe, but I'm pretty certain this isn't how Christ would have dealt with us.
btw- I don't know your feelings about Bush (I could guess), but that "If the opposition disarms-" quote, doesn't that feel a little familiar?

The "Branch Dravidian's" have been around for 125 yrs I believe that they are a splinter group of Methodist, like most such groups they found that the others were to "worldly".
David was a nut,so was Stalin, and Mao, they killed millions more than Hitler. People are crazy, there will always be hate, murder, rape, and war. This is what is real, stop acting surprised. Teach your children not to hate and to care about what happens to others, it's the best we can do.

I think Stalin was involved in the killing of more people because of his irrregaurd for the saftey of his own troops. He knew he had way more soldiers and used them as expendable pawns to gain the upper hand on germany, if he could gain 100 feet with 10,000 men he would do it without question. A tactic that was very effective for gaining ground but had a real impact on the Russian population.

Yes, there are good and bad people in every group. No one claims that atheism is the "answer to the worlds problems". Christianity definitely isn't the answer though, more people have died in the name of Jesus Christ than any other in history.
Hitler was a Christian. I could ask you the same thing you ask me, what do you think of these quotes?
"I believe today that I am acting in the sense of the Almighty Creator. By warding off the Jews I am fighting for the Lord's work."
- Adolph Hitler
"I believe today that my conduct is in accordance with the will of the Almighty Creator."
- Adolph Hitler

Stalin was a megalomaniac. Whether he was religious or not matters not. Power hungry individuals will use whatever means necessary to achieve their goals. If religion is available to use (or abuse), such as with Bin Laden, then so be it.
See: Alexander the Great, Hitler, Napoleon Bonaparte, Idi Amin, Comensceau, Attila the Hun, Charlemagne, Mussolini.........
Nutcases every one.

He was not an Atheist. Do your research.
The son of a shoemaker, Stalin studied (1894—99) for the priesthood at the theological seminary at Tiflis.
