I think the agnostics and some of the pagans must be on our side too.
They've decided that we are in the middle of culture war and that we (atheists, liberals, commie, whatever word they consider slanderous insert here) are the enemy. Since they've already declared war on us for existing, shouldn't we have a strategy for dealing with them?
Should we have militias?
How does one train an army for a culture war? TV? Books?
How can you tell how many casualties you have in a culture war?
And most importantly, are we winning?

I think we should demean and belittle them and make them feel poorly about themselves.

To an Atheist,
Unfortunately, you won't win, pending a catastrophic destruction of faith. Mainly because Christianity has over, oh, 1930-ish years on you. The method to wage a culture war is through the education system first, then the entertainment system, and finally the government. Yeah, there's ton of steps in between, but that's the major steps.
What you can do, however, is try to entice other atheists to become educated first - on life, on all religions, on the universe, on philosophy and theology. This will create a greater level of intellect, and thus everything else will come with it - money, pride, - and more people will be enticed by the "better social group" that Atheists have.
While, posting things like this, pushes border-line Christians further into Christianity, because it makes them think "Well why would I want to be a dumb hateful person like that guy on Yahoo Answers?"
Anyway, that's how you would start a revolution against Christianity, if you wanted. Unfortunately, "Atheism" is about as blind as Christianity.
From,
An Agnostic

Not to worry! The people are all moving in your direction.
Very little spirituality is left in the world. Only a few radicals who hid behind religious beliefs to justiy rape and murder.
Most religion is going down for the third time.
You are the vast majority and many are joining everyday because they see the hyprocity in the churches and mosques.
Soon now very soon people in the western world will turn on all Muslims. It is around the corner. Not because of what they have done but because of what some have done that belong to that religion. Then they turn back for the same reason.
when it is over there will be no religion anywere. Just hang in there soon all will believe like you do. Why do you feel everyone has to believe like you do? I thought that was why people were athesists they didn't have to spead their ideas.

100% atheist here! I was a 'FANATICAL WINGNUT CHRISTIAN!'
One part of me says to ignore the religious. On the other hand, most of these fundamentalists have no idea why they are fundamental. They are told....generation to generation and so-forth. Being a former Wingnut, I just battle them with my brain. That said, it is hard to argue a point to thousands of years of religion, intolerance and ignorance (I call this the trinity). I say this: Kill 'Em All....with kindness and feel real sorry for them too. I look at myself 3 years ago and weep at my own ignorance and lack of personal thinking. I think the right wing governments elected in Canada & USA are exposing themselves for what they are...fascist dictator WINGNUTS. Nothing will kill our independent thought. I would rather admit to not knowing something than to answer every unknown question with: GOD DID IT. Where is that GOD character anyhow? It should be pointed out that no matter what, people choose to be ignorant. It is a 'made-truth'...and made-truth comes from FEAR and nothing but FEAR. There is still something called the Flat Earth Society. Check the link below, no they aren't joking!!! We humans have a long way to go. We are winning, slowly! We just have to endure alot of 'hurt feelings' in the process.

I think it's mostly the Christian conservative fundies that have declared the "culture war". I wouldn't worry about it. We're in the majority.
Furthermore, their whole prophecy about the rapture states that we're going to win anyway, because that's the only way the rapture can happen and Jesus can come back, yadda, yadda.
So just sit back, have a beer or two, and let their self-fulfilled prophecies happen. It will be fun to watch them all scramble about wondering why they haven't been beamed up to heaven yet. :)

Education education education....
It should be our goal to see to it that misinformation and ignorance are stamped out in our school system. There are many hopelessly lost people out there right now. All we can do is concentrate on future generations. See to it that religion is kept out of our classrooms, and out of our politics.
Ensure the highest level of education is provided to each and every child in this country. And once that is achieved, religion will die out on its own. The only thing that has allowed religion to survive the last 200 years is ignorance. Some of the Christians you see on here spouting off against teaching evolution in schools are prime examples of this.

As an agnostic, I'm with you.
Well, the christians are fighting this culture war by creating their own propaganda network (e.g., 700 club, Faux News, AM radio).
When it really comes down to it, we're winning anyway.
The far right has so perverted, watered-down, and politicized Christianity, that if this Jesus ever DID show up, he wouldn't even recognize today's "christianity"

We just need to wear matching t-shirts. That will scare the crap out of them. The simpletons. We will always be winning, we have science and logic on our side. And, they only have an ancient book and their imaginations. I hate to wage a battle of wits with any unarmed people. It's really just sad.

Just ignore the propeganda, insults and such. Rise above the pettiness. In other words keep on as we have. Give them enough rope and they will hang themselves (metaphircally speaking).
Sooner or later intelligence and free thinking will prevail.
