Is political correctness getting ridiculous?

Who coined the term "African American"? Don't you think this should only be applied to someone that is from Africa and is now an American? I just think it's strange that the majority of people that this term is used to describe haven't even ever been to Africa. I'm of German decent. I'm referred to as Caucasion. Why am I not referred to as European American??

Yes, political correctness has been ridiculous for at least the last ten years. People have got to stop being so sensitive. You can't say anything anymore without some group coming down on you. Stop the insanity!!

I used to think so, but I live in a country where political correctness is dead and buried and it is not a pretty sight! People have no shame anymore. They are rude and nearly everybody seems to think that freedom of speech equals the freedom to insult and the right to be rude whenever they want to.

And then there are the people who take things even further and start getting agressive and violent if they don't like what others are saying.

PC language and behaviour have become a joke. Something to make fun of. I personally would love to have the old PC days back!

Meh, it's just an assault of freedom of speech, etc. Ignore it and it'll probably go away.

Also, all white Americans are of European decent, and they do make up most of the country, so that's be pointless.
