Both are mature, both have good jobs and go to college, they don't have kids and both are just good people.

Nothing really wrong with it persay from a legal or a moral standpoint. I would caution against the age difference mentioned here only from the standpoint that the older guy could enjoy alocohol, where it's still against the law for her. But, if that's of no significant problem for either, then go for it! You're both adults, and beyond legal age, the age is only a number.

It's not really the "age difference" that makes it a bad idea, but the difference in life stage...an 8yr old and a 2yr old are only 6yrs apart, but they are VERY different developmentally. Of course, it's not THAT drastic, but it still is similar. An 18 yr old girl that is just beginning college is on a course in life to change a whole lot over the next few years.

I'm all for you dating her, supporting her, being there to show her the ropes - but don't be shocked or disappointed when she turns into someone you may not recognize as she grows and matures very quickly. If you really mean "just dating," it's totally fine and not a problem. However, if you are looking to make this a serious relationship that might even progress to marriage, be VERY careful and very flexible. The years between 18-22 are really important to women: they discover independence, freedom, choice, and figure out what they like and how they fit into the world, they make sense of all they have learned and can see how to apply it to life. Having a serious boyfriend during that time can sometimes affect that in a not-so-good way.

In general, there's nothing wrong with it. I mean, you're both of consenting age, and as long as you're both attracted to each other and comfortable with one another, there shouldn't be a problem.

However, the age difference does have the potential to bring forward some problems. She is 18, which means that she probably just finished high school within the past year. Correct? Assuming that it is, let's examine her situation.

Think back to when you were 18 and just getting out of high school. Think of how much things changed for you then. If you're like most people, you'll probably remember going through a lot of transitions in how you think and act. My 18th year was definitely a big year for me. By the time I was 19, I already gained quite a bit of maturity and experience, considerably more than I did in the year from turning 17 to turning 18.

So, just chew on that. And good luck with the relationship. Remember, a lot of successful couples are more than a few years apart in age, some as much as a few decades apart. And don't worry about what other people think. Only worry about what she thinks and what you think about the situation.

I think she's going to get hurt in the end is what I think. 24 year old guys and 18 year old girls are very different no matter how "mature" you think she is. She JUST got into college. There IS a difference! Give her a couple years and then date her. 6 years isn't a problem. 18 years old is.

Well I hope she is REALLY mature. I wouldn't want to have a serious relationship with someone until after they had experienced the bar scene as a single person.

If I were 24, an 18 year old wouldn't be my first choice, but it is your life!

I don't see a thing in the world wrong with that. The 18 year old is of legal age, that is only 6 years difference. I have saw some folks that are 10-15 years difference in age and doing good. Once your of legal age and get along with each other good, age don't have a thing to do with it. I say go for it and good luck with the future.

Age should not matter. If they care in each other and love each other, well let them be. But there is a downfall to this also. What will happen when she turns 21?? Hes done all that, and we all know, for some people 21 is a fun time?? And she is still in college, so that might added pressure, but over all if they really love each other, then it may not be a problem.

18 to 24..six years. It could be worse. Its good that the girl is 18 so there are no laws against it. I think its cool. Older guys are more mature and therefore, just better!!! Good for her. Have fun. Use condoms!! Haha..j/k. But seriously. Seems fine to me!

Not a thing wrong with it. You are both adults and legal in the eyes of the law assuming you aren't buying her alcohol. You are only 6 years older than her for christ's sake. Not exactly a May-December romance. LOL

I have no problem with that age difference if the girl is at least 18
