I used toilet paper with both of mine. Not only is it already there and cheaper, she won't have flushable wipes everywhere she goes unless you want to carry them around with you. I think the wipes are a waste of money myself, unless you kid still has loose stools, not well formed the way they should be. If he/she is ready to potty train, then she should be on solid foods, not a liquid diet or babby food, so the stools should be well formed and easy to clean up after.

My son uses TP for pee pee, and Flushable Wipes for Poops. As he gets better at making it to the toilet before soiling the pullups or the undies, he sometimes only needs TP because there isn't much to clean up. But Flushables are a great invention!

I like flushable wipes for #2 and toilet paper for pee. I think that teaches them to be clean without having to spend too much extra for the wipes.

Teach both. Particularly, when one has fire butt. Wipe with the regular toilet paper first, then finish up with the flushable wipe for the clean up and cool down.

The wipes are certainly easier for little fingers to handle but toilet paper is always available in public restrooms and when away from home. I would use both. Tear a few sheets of paper off and fold them up and leave a couple of those by the toilet and the wipes. She may prefer one over the other.

My son uses both. He uses the wipe first to get most of the stuff off, then the TP for the leftover bits. I found that if he started with the TP, he just smeared everything around and I ended up having to wipe for him.

I use TP for teaching because that is what we use in real life. I don't carry wipes with me in case of a BM while I'm out so I don't feel like I should for my kids either. Now, while they are learning to go I use wipes for BM because it is easier, but when they start doing it themselves, it is TP allt he way

Wipes- there are no dirty marks in the underwear if you teach them to fold it a couple times, drop it in the potty and wash their hands well. I teach my kids to wipe themselves around 4 or 4 1/2 otherwise, their little arms can't reach. They must say "WIPE ME". Very loud until I come and wipe them.

i would teach both so they aren't determined to use only wipes when only tp may be available. defiantly teach wipes for bm though so they can get clean. young ones may have a bit of trouble getting clean enough with only tp.

I had my daughters use TP for tinkles and wipes for b.m. It was easier for them to clean themselves with the wipes.
