If that is all you see maybe you should open your eyes. Wars are fought over religion, politics and hundreds of other reasons. Including stupid reasons like who owns an uninhabitable Island with no natural resources. Religions do a lot of good in this world. Some religions do more good then others some do more harm then others. In general blanket statements like you made are either ignorant or intentionally misleading with an agenda.

I'm sorry that you see it that way. maybe you have never witness a miracle. I have. I'm not going into details about it but I will assure you it's real. besides, from a non religious point of view "faith" is a wonderful feeling that is much more than "hope" and most faith comes from what you call "religion". to answer your question it is not religion that causes war, it is the greed, stubbornness, hatred and hunger for power that causes war. those who claim they kill and terrorize human kind in the name of their god are sick in the head and has nothing to do with religion.

Religion doesn't start wars - people in power with something to gain or fragile egos start wars. The religion is just an excuse.

when you open your eyes and see that they have and are...
i dont disagree that "religion" has been the reason for most of the world's violence-however many of the world's aid/relief non-profit organizations that help war-torn countries (or violent countries or poor countries, etc) are also doing what they do in the name of religion-if you would like a more postive side of "religion" here are two organizations that i'm familiar with-maybe you can check them out www.worldhelp.com or www.samaritan.org - also, if it's peace your seeking-then seek it peacefully and maybe that will resonate (sp?) to others...

Religion doesnt start wars. Ignorant extremests start wars. People who blame religion for everything are just as bad as those who take it too far. When people learn to keep things to themselves and not try to push their beliefs on others then the madness will stop.

And what about those "religious people" that having nothing to do with the wars? What about those that would make try their hardest to feed all of the hungry, clothe all of the naked, and help all of the needy of this world?
It doesn't matter how much good "religious people" do, people like you are going to turn a blind eye to it because you don't care. All you want to see is the "bad stuff" that religion has supposedly done.

that is a very good question. I am a religious person and read and study the bible. However, do not agree with the churches.
They are not preaching the word of God but they are there to make money. They make a lot of money.
They are tax free because they say what the governments or the rulers want them to not what the bible teaches.
They get poor people to fight other poor people. War is big business.

Religion is not the problem it is the people fighting in it's name.God is always watching his people. I'M so sick of you none beleavers blaming religion for the wars. If anything "religion" is what is holding the world together. So why don't you get off your sope box ,and do something like pray to your saver, and I don't care if you don't beleave.

That is exactly what religions do but what God wanted was a relationship. Jesus said the only religion there is is to love. Religion was set by man, when you have relationship you'll then know the difference
