Sister problems?

I work at the same place as my older sister. She got angry at me for talking to my father today at work. (We have different dads.) She said that I should have been working. She talks to her husband at least five times a day everyday. She works on personal stuff all the time at work. She is surfing the web or playing with her pictures constantly. Since she's mad at me she will not give me any work. Any advice?

If she isn't your direct supervisor, tell her to mind her own business, otherwise you are stuck.

Point out to your sister all the things you mentioned here. Even if she is your supervisor, she should realize that her actions speak louder than her words. The workplace is no place for sibling rivalry. Remind your sister that there is a time and a place for it.

If working with your sister is too hard for you, perhaps you should find other employment.

wow, i have an older sister to.with a different dad. Well in my case if that happened to me and my sister did that. Thats probally cuz shes being a b i t c h, she thinks i should be the one working,and she prolly doesnt notice she does it just as much (more)

She wants to control everything you do. She is probably jealous of your relationship with your father. Is she your boss at work? If not, take directions from your boss.

You may have to work elsewhere if she doesn't improve. Can your mom help at all? (I am not sure how old you and your sis are.)

you need to talk to her at home or out in town, not at work.
tell her that you need work.
tell her that you also need to communicate with your father. but also remind her that you dont call him everyday.
you are allowed to tell her also that she does more personal stuff then you do at work becus she is your sister.
if she gets mad and never gives you work then leave. you should never work with family. im glad i never worked with my sister. i was going to. in a retail stoe. but she never wanted me there. so i never went. good thing. working with family or relatives or even firends can be very hard.
try to communicate with your sister and tell her that you will try to keep personal phone calls to a low, but you want jobs.tell her.

Be straight up with her, and tell her how you feel. But don't do it at work. Talk to her face to face. If it doesn't stop, go to your supervisor. Don't threaten her with that either, she may beat you to it, and use it against you.
It sounds like she has some issues.

This is the reason why many businesses do not hire the relatives of employees esp. putting them in a situation where one member is a supervisory position and is the other is accountable to her.

You can confront her with your problem and tell her that you don't think it's fair how she can do whatever she wants and you get in trouble.
