I know I have already asked this question before but I have to ask it again because enough of the religious fools reported it to get it banned.

religious people are stupid! the proof is in their beliefs-- all adults laugh at children for their stupid cuteness for still believing in Santa Claus-- well same for stupid religious people who are fully functioning adults and believe in god-- WE ARE LAUGHING AT U!!!!

First of all, although you might be able to ask this question in a more respectful way. Anyone who would report you is a bigot.

On that note, to conclude these studies are proof that Religious people as a whole are less intelligent then Atheists is a pretty big jump.

I'll explain why:

1.Just because someone is scientist doesn't mean they are more intelligent then others. Also it’s just as likely ones religious beliefs affected their occupational choice then the other way around. In other words how do you know the data doesn't say people who are not religious are more likely to become scientists then People who are scientists are less likely to be religious?

2. Notice that every study mentioned involves "young people" or students except for the studies that go against the pattern, which don't cite who was involved in the study.

There are also studies that show people are more likely to become religious after age 30.

It seems to me that less intelligent people are more likely to blindly accept their parents religion so even at a young age (through their 20's) they will stick with that religion and profess it, even if they don't really live it.

More intelligent people are more likely to question their parents religion so as they a try to figure out their own religious beliefs they do not hold to any specific religious convictions at a younger age. As they get older and have more life experience they see how the world around us indicates the existence of God and then they find and embrace their own religion (usually around age 30).

I know this is just a theory but it's also a good reason to question why I'm unable to find a study of this nature that examines an accurate representation of the general population.

This is the problem with statistics, you can use any numbers to make your point.

All this really says is that people of a lower intelligence are more likely to choose religion. That makes since, when you don't know a lot about the world, it is easier to just have faith. But, that does not mean that all religious people are stupid, or that by choosing religion that a person is stupid. Nor does it prove that religion is just the product of stupid people. It could be that stupid people have just managed to make the right choice while the "smart" atheists overanalyzed and made the wrong choice. Also, just because a lot of scientists are atheist does not mean their isn't a majority of stupid atheists. It could be that on average, the religious person is more intelligent than the atheist person. Statistics are just a tool to use to prove that whatever you believe is true, even when it is not.

If you're so smart, why have you asked the same question twice, when you have already been reported for it once?

How can you say that religious people are more stupid than Atheists? Atheists believe that they are descended from apes. Everyone knows that humans are the most intelligent species on Earth so if the Atheists are descended from apes, they cannot possibly be less stupid than religious people, can they?

Anyway, this is all just conjecture, I believe that there are equally stupid people from all walks of life.

1) Just because some graph shows that the IQ number of a select group of atheists is higher than the IQ number of a select group of Christians, that does not mean that the whole of Atheists is/are smarter than the whole Christian sect. Any person who does a study like this is going to have a bias, and so do you also have a bias. No study like this is going to have as much validity as anyone would like it to.
2) Who in the world is going to sit there and say, "Okay, we're all stupider than all those people."? If some graph showed evidence to the other way, you'd be having some kind of an argument against it, would you not?
3) Why are you so intent on showing that atheists are smarter than Christians? Is that your agenda in life? Big stinking deal, either way. There are plenty of very intelligent Christians, they are plenty of very intelligent atheits, and there are plenty of very dumb Christians, and there are plenty of dumb atheists.
4) You say that people like "us" - Christians that would have you spend your life in eternity - make you angry (maybe you haven't said it like that before, but I know some have). Don't you ever stop to think that all of your immature rants about how stupid Christans are can get offensive? Even frustrating?

You can call the religious, which I assume you to mean Christians; even though every one who acts religious is not a Christian; fools, or whatever you want to call them. But I'll bet you will not call us fools when you stand before the throne of God. The only proof that you have of religious people being stupid, is your stupidity which you have allowed the devil to put into your head. Satan is the one who is a fool, and you act like one too, according to the stupid remarks which you make. I hope you are able to sleep at night; but knowing the attitude which you have, I suppose it's no problem. May God have mercy upon you.

Well, at least some scientist are not stupid enough to use physical scientific methods to try to prove a spiritual beings existence.

Scientists think a lot of things that end up being wrong, but God will end up right in the end!

"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom" (Prov. 1:7). Happy the soul that has been awed by a view of God's majesty, that has had a vision of God's awful greatness, His ineffable holiness, His perfect righteousness, His irresistible power, His sovereign grace. Does someone say, "But it is only the unsaved, those outside of Christ, who need to fear God"? Then the sufficient answer is that the saved, those who are in Christ, are admonished to work out their own salvation with "fear and trembling." Time was when it was the general custom to speak of a believer as a "God-fearing man." That such an appellation has become nearly extinct only serves to show whither we have drifted. Nevertheless, it still stands written, "Like as a father pitieth his children, so the Lord pitieth them that fear Him" (Psalm 103:13).

When we speak of godly fear, of course we do not mean a servile fear, such as prevails among the heathen in connection with their gods. No, we mean that spirit which Jehovah is pledged to bless, that spirit to which the prophet referred when he said, "To this man will I (the Lord) look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word" (Isa. 66:2). It was this the apostle had in view when he wrote, "Honor all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king" (I Pet: 2:17). And nothing will foster this godly fear like a recognition of the Sovereign Majesty of God.

I am not at all religious but I think your question is bigotted and offensive. Religious people are no more stupid than Atheists or anyone else. They are as entitled to their beliefs as are you to your non belief. I have travelled widely and spoken with people of all beliefs and have found them to be very interesting and willing to listen to what I have to say. If more people worried about their own beliefs and left others alone to their beliefs there would be a lot less trouble in this world.

Proven by who? And doesn't the wording of your question imply that atheists are stupid if the religious are "more stupid"?

I doubt the "religious fools" reported this question because it was offensive to them as much as openly hostile. Or is atheists' position on (what issues?) so weak that it's not open to debate?

Just because someones an aetheist doesnt make them smart and just because someones religious doesnt make them stupid...thats pretty stereotypical and very wrong. most aethests tend to be scientist that dont want to except anything science may not ever prove (which it will never prove evolution either but thats a different story) but the scientist may be a physicist so of course they are going to appear more intelligent then a local preacher that doesnt understand things like the theory of relativity, but that doesnt mean one group is smarter or dumber then the other...theres great differences of opinion (personally i think aetheists are very wrong) but in both groups there are those that are smarter and those that arent

I don't think that they are any more idiotic than Atheists.
The Religiously inclined due tend to, act weird and preach beliefs that are really just the golden rules to living a good life that even Atheists use as morals...

So in reality....religious people should stop answering in preach-form, and atheists should stop bashing religions. Because you all have the same morals of life...
