I'm sorry, but that is such lame reasoning. "True" doesn't just mean the opposite of false. It can also mean Genuine or Legitimate. Jehovah is the "Almighty God" He is the only "true" god because there is none above him.

Jesus never claimed he was equal to God EVER. (John 14:28) Besides that, You quoted John 17:3. Who was speaking there? It was Jesus. He called his Father the only "True God". He called himself "the one whom you sent forth" two separate entities.

I am not a 'Jehovah witness' but I will take a shot at answering the question. There are multiple Hebrew terms for god. (I would have to currently check the Greek). One of the Hebrew terms for god is Elohym, which is plural; i.e. more than one being (what we in this country think of as a team. Therefore, Jesus can be 'god' and man at the same time. Further, man is also a false 'god', even though he does exist. So technically, there can be many gods.

There is only one (1) TRUE GOD worthy of Worship, and that is Jehovah God. Jesus Christ is (a) god. However, being a god can be said about money, sex or anything in general that "we put first" in our lives. The Hindu religion alone worships over 660,000,000 (six hundred and sixty million gods).

Christ Jesus is Jehovah's ONLY BEGOTTEN SON and is the ONLY WAY to reach Jehovah in Prayer. He is 2nd ONLY TO GOD! Without the sacrifice of Jesus we would literally have NO HOPE! So, yes, Christ Jesus is of GREAT GREAT value in ALL RESPECTS! However, even he said, "the father is greater than I am." And we should love and respect Christ and worship his Father, Jehovah.

PS I am not a Witness, but they have this right!

Jesus Christ is Jehovah God in a visible body. God took on human form to be a greater force in the reformation and regeneration of man. What men see, they believe and they saw Jesus Christ walk on this earth - "the Word that became flesh and walked among us." A diminished Jesus Christ is simply a false teaching. The Father, Son and Holy Spirit is just like the soul, the body and the works in a single person.

I am sorry to say this....there has been many names attributed to the real GOD...but all of those are plain callings because up to now every name mentioned are just pure speculations even if they say that such name has been mentioned in the bible more than 7000 times...patience my dear... Jesus is just a Son of God...meaning he was born with a mission....just as the other heroes of the Old Testament like Adam, Abraham, Jacob, Moses.,Elijah, David...and the Israelites or Jews have been addressed by the Old and New Testament as children of God together with people like many of us who are adopted to the faith..(I hope you consider yourself too if you are a Christian. If not, you still are no matter what because we are all human beings)
There is an appointed time when we will all come to know HIS TRUE NAME...and it will not be very far from now..............

Mark 12:29 Jesus answered: The first is,"Hear O Israel, YHWH OUR God is one YHWH/Jehovah/Yahweh,..'

There are a few definitions for the word god...Webster's on line dictionary, the first is the Creator, another is 'A POWERFUL RULER'. In this sense Jesus is a god, so is President Bush, any King, president or Satan.

Jesus is Lord. He was the one who died for us, (our sins) to set us (captives) free. Therefore, Jesus is the Son of God. And God is our Heavenly father who is in heaven. Who is worthy to be praised & worshipped. Because God created the heavens and the earth and he created us, out of his own image. Therefore the things that God created, when the wind blows the trees sway in worship, therefore trees worships the Lord. The waters roar in praises, therefore the waters praises the Lord. God created us, therefore we should all praise and worship the Lord, who is our God. Jesus is Lord, and God is our Father who is in heaven. Jesus is the Lamb of God.

Interestingly enough, Jesus claimed that He WAS Jehovah. "Before Abraham was, I am." How can Jesus be Jehovah's son...and also Jehovah? Of course he can't be. He is Jehovah of the Old Testament.
