it means you have to wait for them to heal, if you have a sling use it the less you use the arm the quicker it will get better and if they've given you an exercise regime follow it - ligaments are the bits that connect muscle to the bone so you can move them.

I did that by damage it could mean you have stretched them and they became inflamed there is really nothing they can do for that. Lost of rest to that arm is all that will help for now. It will feel better but, it will take awhile. I took me over a month but I also had a one pound restriction could not lift anything. Sometime when I over use my arms they hurt but then they feel better but this is an on go thing my injury happened three years ago. For the ligaments and tendons unless they are torn or broken their is not much that can be done. If they are cut they can do surgery to repair them but its also a long healing process. Good Luck hope its not bad.

I had same damage 12 years ago when a violent partner twisted my arm behind my back and forced upward, the pain was worse that a break and my arm ballooned. I still have weird pains in my arm today but look on it as a warning to stay away from guys like him. You will be fine.

If you do something like dislocate a joint the ligaments stretch and tear, sometimes they need an op to put right other times not, but generally they are buggered for life
I dislocated my shoulder a few years back and it pops out now and then cos the ligaments are stretched
hope it helps, atb

It means you have damaged the muscular structure in your elbow. Thsee ligaments help your forearm to move and reduce the friction. Damage to these ligaments generally results in pain when trying to move the arm especially after prolonged periods of no muscular activity in the arm.

I am an alternative medicinal therapist and an ex nurse. You should go and see either a massage therapist or an acupressurist, they will put you right, without the aid of pills or operations. I know because I have a few patients with this problem.

Ligament connect your muscle to your bone. There like the 'glue', but are stringy.
It wil mean they'll need time to repair themselves - a long space of time. When hes says you've damaged it, were talking about tiny, tiny fibres within in th ligamnet.
Give it time bud!
