Tactless means you speak whatever comes to your mind and say it in a way people get offended or angry or hurt, just like when you don't have any manners while speaking to other people. it just shows the person has no respect to other people if you speak tactlessly. or you're just clueless and it comes naturally to you. if that's the case then i guess somebody should tell you to be more polite in saying things to other people, and that you have to exercise speaking more politely to other people just to avoid hurting other people or even insulting them by what you say..

Mostly used when addressing a situation or talking to a person...
Per example, if you had to give bad news to someone, make sure that you do it with class and in a way that it will not be hurtful to them.... If you don't, then you will lack tact....

The dictionary says "Lacking or exhibiting a lack of tact; bluntly inconsiderate or indiscreet."
It would be like if one of your friends was over weight and trying really hard to lose the weight and you absent mindedly said... "mmm I could murder a big mac". You wouldn't have meant to have hurt their feelings... but you would have by being tactless.

it's the term defining a carelessly saying or doing things that are likely to upset the others. as an opposite there's the word tactful.

without tact, it coulb be referint to the sense of tact, or regarding manners or personality meanig that a person is not very diplomatic or acts or speak carefully trying to not bother another person.

not being able to use sensitivity when needed in a situation. You probably just speak as you find. Lots of people cant handle that
