What happens to all this 'hard working illegals' rhetoric when we build 'berry bot' and 'lettuce bot' and 'burger bot'? If we can put a robot on mars, why not put one in McDonalds? Further, I'll bet if you put the pay at 10 bucks an hour, you'd see plenty of bona-fide americans out there pickin' berries, and they wouldn't make an all-day job of it, either.

that's just it..IF,,they started the pay at 10 an hour, but you and i know they never will, so we will never see a lazy a** American out their picking strawberries. and as far as bots..the food is bad enough at McDonald's the service repair on a bot would be too high for most chains I'd bet. Besides it,s nice to see a friendly face every now and then to many things have gone digital like electronic answering machines..press 1 for this 2 for that 3 if your illegal and so on and so on. I,d hate to pull up to a fast food and have a bot take my order and cook my food. but it would not surprise me if we see something like that in a few years.

I would gladly work in the fields if they paid more than $4 an hour.

In fact I was watching the news and farms in Salinas California were having a hard time keeping enough employees BEACUSE if the immigration issues out here.....

seriously if they paid decent wages I think a lot more citizens would gladly take those jobs.

The mars rover cost the government billions of dollars, so I don't think the local Mcdonalds would be able to employ one at 3 bucks an hour to man the burger assembly line.

$10 bucks an hour. That's nothing. Piece worker farm laborers make several hundred dollars a day. I know a guy in LA that picks soft fruit and makes $600 a day picking peaches.

Farm Labor is tax exempt. I personally have worked for the Department of agriculture making over $3200.00 a day.

$10 bucks is liberal blue Smurf librarian money

I understand that they pay by the bucket or basket and that someone who knows what they are doing can make about $14 an hour.

My mom picked strawberries to earn money when she was a teenager, lots of people have.

exactly! know why you don't generally hear about people picking olives or almonds? because they're practically little rocks and you just shake the tree until they fly off. technology rules. soon we'll all be able to be artists, philosophers and poets...

BERRY BOTS. THAT'S WHAT WE NEED, THE PRICE OF THE BERRIES WOULD BE LOWERED. AND THE ILLEGALS WOULD BE OUT OF WORK.
