Christianity itself does not disrespect women. Now people on the other hand...that's a different story.

I went to this christian church for about a year and the pastor said he had to bring in a "real christian woman" to teach the rest of us women how to dress. He wanted us to wear big tent dresses and keep our heads covered with hats. I honestly did not see one woman there who was dressed inappropriately. If he was getting aroused by looking at us women then that is his problem not ours. I don't go there anymore and I stay home on sunday mornings and wear whatever I want. He considered jewelry like hanging ornaments on a christmas tree and he did not like make-up. There was a group of people getting baptized by submersion one sunday and he made a speech about not baptizing any woman who was dressed improperly in any garment that would be see through when wet. Women Haters.

I defintiely dont see how it disrespects women, im a Christian and i think it is one of the least discriminating religions out there, of course someone is always going to find problems in every religion. The only way i could see someone say it disrespects women is that many denominations do not allow women to be pastors but i dont find this disrespectful, after all the Bible says the man is to be the head of spiritual matters

It really depends on the denomination. Not Christians in general. Baptist don't let women teach Sunday school or anything like that without their husbands helping them. But, I am Pentecostal and we had an awesome revival a few years back and the evangelist was a woman and she was powerful and full of God and by far one of the best speakers I have heard. We also let women do things in our church without the help of the men. So, it really depends more on the denomination then Christianity in general.

instruct me interior the Bible that God says "women shall not lead church homes". you're taking some thing, thoroughly ignoring the historic putting, and twisting it to indicate some thing it in no way pronounced. The passage you're thinking of is in certainty telling women from a non-Jewish way of existence that as quickly as they pass right into a predominantly Jewish church they're to not yell out to their husbands questions they have approximately what replaced into occurring. CONTEXT! Why do human beings forget approximately approximately context? bear in mind, "a textual content and not utilising a context isn't something yet a pretext used with the aid of fools to instruct an unprovable factor!"

Like the other person said, it's mostly people who do it.
Not being a theologist, I can't give you a very good answer. But having been raised catholic, I can speak as to that.
There, women are not allowed to become priests. It was only in about 1980 something that they were even allowed to dispense first communion. What a leap! lol
Imagine if they HAD been allowed to be priests. I won't spell it out, but yall know what I'm talking about.

The Bible references women as posessions. This was way before women's liberation, so women WERE regarded as possesions. The whole religion is highly patriarchal, and women aren't treated as equals. If a woman had the love and passion for her faith, then why can't she be a priest? Why are there only altar boys and not altar girls? As times change some traditions should change, but religion is highly resistant to change.

Chrisitanity does not disrespect women. People do. Culturally, if you look to the early church, women were seen as leaders in the church, and still are in many denominations today. There is a scripture that says that women should not teach men, and that if she prays publicly she should have her head covered. This is still practiced in some cultures, but not in most western churches.

"If a man happens to meet a virgin who is not pledged to be married and rapes her and they are discovered, he shall pay the girl's father fifty shekels of silver. He must marry the girl, for he has violated her. He can never divorce her as long as he lives. (From the NIV Bible, Deuteronomy 22:28)"
So remember Christians, if your daughter was raped, make sure that the rapist marries her.
"And if a woman have an issue (her period/menses), [and] her issue in her flesh be blood, she shall be put apart seven days: and whosoever toucheth her shall be unclean until the even. And every thing that she lieth upon in her separation shall be unclean:"(From the King James Version Bible, Leviticus 15:19-30)"
"It is a shame for women to talk in the church." (1 Corinthians 14:34-35)
So Christian women, make sure you keep silent in Church.

Leviticus 15:19-30 Explains that a woman having her menstruation must be avoided to the point of not even touching what she has touched. It is curious that women are punished for simply having a biological function that “God” claims to have created. What is so just about vilifying what you created?
Deuteronomy 20:13-15 Kill all the men and boys in the cities that God “delivers into your hands,” but keep the women for raping.
Deuteronomy 21:11-14 I
If you see a pretty woman among the captives then just take her home and “go in unto her.”
"Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, as christ also is the head of the church, he himself being the savior of the body. But as the church is subject to christ, so also the wives ought to be to their husbands in everything." (Ephesians 5:22-24)
"Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. For Adam was first formed, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression." (1 Timothy 2:11-14)
• "Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also saith the law. And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church." (1 Corinthians 14:34)
