If she is registered go with that. Lots of people try to think of different or more personal gifts and being a bride I'll tell you my house if full of junk and stuff like that. I need certain things and I would rather have things on my registry then people struggle to get me something more personal. Even if you can only get her the gravy bowl for her china- it's will be greatly appreciated! And money or gift cards are always wonderful gifts too!

Find out if they have a registry, then get something off that.
If you don't like that idea, and want to do something more personal, then think of what your friend and her hubby enjoy doing together, and get them a gift so that they can do it. If they enjoy camping, then some camping gear maybe with a bottle of champagne for their next campout. A romance basket is always fun, give a bottle of bubbly, romantic CD, massage oils, candles, etc. I've given a picnic basket filled with gourmet foods as well. Let your imagination run wild, just remember it's a gift for the couple, not just the bride.

As everyone else has said, the registry is a great place to start. However, this summer our friends' got married and their registry was pretty well covered. So we went creative and found them a pressed four leaf clover. It was a great way to wish them luck and something other people probably wouldn't get them. We got it from redenvelope.com

The last wedding gift my hubby and I bought was for dear friends from High School. We got them necklaces...the woman's was a silver disk charm and the man's was a silver dog tag style charm...on each of them we had their monogram engraved and put them each on nice silver chains.
They turned out really pretty and the couple loved them!

I say go to wherever she is registered at and get her a gift from her list. That way you dont have to guess at what she would like!

check if she's registered..if not...gift cards to crate and barrel, pier one imports, williams-sonoma, and target are all so helpful. or a nice bottle of champagne with great glasses is very classy also.
