I hear it's really dangerous in the north. There is alot of violence in northern Uganda and people (mostly children) are fleeing to southern Uganda for safety and refuge.

My church was involved in a mission in Southern Uganda last year and it was awesome. Some people want to go to northern Uganda at a later time. I would love to go. It is dangerous, but it would also be an awesome experience.

My advice is to just pray for your friend and trust God. God can do some awesome things there.

Many blessings.

Northern Uganda is currently safe since the recent peace talks but even then it is unlikely that your friend will face any difficuoty while there since he is not a local. The rebels in the region are famous for attacking their own tribes. there has been no case of a foreign missionary being hurt in the conflict before.

Less you think about it the better.
And why are missionaries still around. Bibles are everywhere, if someone wants to convert to whatever religion, they just gotta walk down the street...dirt or paved
