I would like to visit china, and it's capital, bejing. However, I have a fear of flying. How could I get to Bejing by Boat/ferry from the UK? I know I might have to do some land travel (trains, coaches, etc)......can anyone help?

You can't get there by boat.The only overland trip for you is to get to Berlin,then take either the Trans Mongolian or Trans Siberian Express,which are trains that will take you all the way to Beijing.Go for it,you'll never regret it.

Take the slow bouat to China and while you're on the way, you'll have plenty of time to work out your similar journey to Japan.

there's probably a boat..
however, when i googled it, i could not find one. the trip would probably be much longer and more expensive. if you want to make a real trip of it, you could take the ferry to paris, ride to russia by train, and get to china from russia.
