Clonidine. But you get withdrawls from coming off the clonidine too.
This medication is used to treat high blood pressure. It works by stimulating certain brain receptors (alpha adrenergic type) which results in the relaxing of blood vessels in other parts of your body, causing them to widen. Lowering high blood pressure helps prevent strokes, heart attacks, and kidney problems.
OTHER USES: This medication may also be used to ease withdrawal symptoms associated with the long-term use of narcotics, alcohol and nicotine (smoking). In addition, clonidine may also be used for migraine headaches, hot flashes associated with menopause, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, and other conditions as determined by your doctor.

Ativan or libruim are used in a increasing lower doses to prevent DTS a potentially fatal effect of withdrawing form long term drinking or cousuming a lot of alcohol in a short period oif time.
thease meds prevent siezures and some of the halicnations and other ehavior that can happen when a person stops drinking.
never dexoxyour self or use home remedies go ot a ER ASAP and also you do not have ot goto AA ect jut get your self back to a levle with iut alcohol in you then go from ther never use alcohol to detox as it can cuase more problems .

Benzodiazepines are given for alcohol withdrawl because they have properties similar to alcohol. There are short acting, medium acting and long acting "benzos." Lorezepam and ativan are different names for the same drug - a medium acting benzo. It is easy to recognize the scientific name for a benzo because they all end in "pam". (don't get this confused with the brand name, i.e. ativan, valium)
WRONG ANSWERS::
warfarin is a blood thinner not given for withdrawl
methadone is given for heroin withdrawl
wellbutrin(buproprion) is an antidepressant that is used for nicotine withdrawl.
time - will not cure alcohol withdrawl, only alcohol overdose, the difference is that alcohol is the one drug that you can die from if the withdrawl is serious enough, whereas other drugs the treatment is time and symptomatic relief.
psychiatry - will help with alcohol addiction but not withdrawl.

Marijuana is not chemically addictive. So, no, it wont help. Any withdrawal symptoms someone would experience after stopping marijuana would be 100% emotional, not physical. The oxazepam is to help your body adjust to the lack of the chemicals in the drugs. There is no physical adjustment for marijuana, because the body was never chemically addicted to begin with.
