Plain good manners is important. It's unfortunate that racial and gender prejudice still exists and that people are so stupid they need specific guidelines on how to behave.I'm sick of the lack of common courtesy, common sense, common decency that abounds in the world today.Until all of humanity can get a grip and come to terms about the negativeness of their prejudices, specific guidelines have to be set and followed. If everyone treated everyone with respect, kindness, decency,if everyone were treated equally and given equal treatment, there would be no need for "Political Correctness."

It's perfectly okay to call a black-painted blackboard a blackborad;it sounds like someone lacks common sense!

A word of warning:when a person says that they are not prejudiced,I worry because I know what a false statement that can be.Everyone,to some extent carries a degree of ingrained prejudice inside them.Case in point:RY's stereotyping all black people;you can have a honest disagreement with a person no matter what their race!GET REAL!!There are SOME people who will hide behind certain excuses but please don't demean an entire group of people. That's just ignorant.Another case in point:if you were to go out and buy a pair of nude-colored pantyhose,is it going to be a nude color on everyone? No,it's not.People, you all need to THINK beyond your own selfish existence and try to see the world through better-educated,more compassionate eyes...but too many people think that they are just fine the way they are...if things were just fine, there wouldn't be a need for such strict guidelines on how to treat others!

I was at work one day, a package came to the plant. On the out side of the package it had the work *****. The black people had a fit. ***** means black, the contents were black, but the package had to have all languages on it. So one of the languages uses the word ***** for black, which means the same thing.
I think things have gone a bit far when you can't even use proper language without upsetting people.

i'm! Stereotypes did no longer arise for no reason, and too often different human beings stay as much as them..yet nevertheless get 'offended' each time somebody factors it out. easily, in case you're no longer residing up to your stereotype, you have not got any reason to be offended. i think of all of it stems from the vanity circulation, the place absolutely everyone will become too concentrated on thoughts rather of certainty. the different day I published a query with regards to the leave out u . s . pagent...and a white women folk wrote in (no longer even remotely responding to my question) and grow to be all upset that there have been no black women folk interior the suitable classification. before everything, in case you're no longer black, you need to no longer be complaining. Secondly, she ought to have completely ignored the fact that a million/2 of the teach consisted of talking approximately final 3 hundred and sixty 5 days's leave out u . s ....who exceeded off to be BLACK. additionally, if ninety 5% of the girls who run interior the competition are white chicks, odds are a cracker is going to win. i for my section hate whilst human beings attempt to drag the race card out of skinny air. in case you do no longer enable racism die, it not at all will. i'm bored with all the whining and want human beings does not be so gentle and upward thrust above it rather of crying like a three-3 hundred and sixty 5 days previous. I relatively have had to conquer my own stereotypes, so if i will, i think of that any you could actually. (i grow to be born and raised in a purple-neck hick city, the place maximum youngsters grew to grow to be mothers and fathers and dropped out of school. I chosen to artwork annoying, get good grades, get right into a competent college, get knowledgeable, and now I artwork for a wealth administration enterprise exterior of NYC and help cope with portfolios for consumers between $5-$35 million in investible components.)

I agree. I'm not racist either; I love all people no matter what their race, religious preference, or sexual preference. But things have gotten a little ridiculous where political correctness is concerned. What matters is what is in a person's heart and how they treat people, not the wording.

You don't have it that bad off. In the US you have to refer to blacks as "African Americans" or else you get attacked with racism charges. The funny thing is I have great black friends. And you can't call a woman a secretary either, you have to call her an "administrative assistant" and a fireman has to be called a "firefighter".

There is politeness, and then there is a point where it's just ridiculous.

As long as you're not being derogatory, why can you just call it what it is? black, white, asian, gay, straight, whatever. If someone expresses that they don't like what you've called them, simply say "I prefer..." and be done with it.
