Being "Born Again" refers to a spiritual adoption as "Sons of God", and will eventually result in a "New Creation" as rulers in heaven with Jesus Christ.

(Romans 8:15-17) 15 For YOU did not receive a spirit of slavery causing fear again, but YOU received a spirit of adoption as sons, by which spirit we cry out: “Abba, Father!” 16 The spirit itself bears witness with our spirit that we are God’s children. 17 If, then, we are children, we are also heirs: heirs indeed of God, but joint heirs with Christ, provided we suffer together that we may also be glorified together.

(2 Corinthians 5:17) 17 Consequently if anyone is in union with Christ, he is a new creation; the old things passed away. . .

When those who are "Born Again" go to heaven and are fully united with Christ, they rule with Jesus as Kings, Judges, and Priests.

(Revelation 20:6) 6 Happy and holy is anyone having part in the first resurrection; over these the second death has no authority, but they will be priests of God and of the Christ, and will rule as kings with him for the thousand years.

Now, ask yourself this: Who will these "Born Again" Christians rule over as Kings? If all good people are in heaven, and all bad are in "Hell", who will be left to rule? The answer is found here:

(Proverbs 2:21-22) 21 For the upright are the ones that will reside in the earth, and the blameless are the ones that will be left over in it. 22 As regards the wicked, they will be cut off from the very earth; and as for the treacherous, they will be torn away from it.

(Psalm 37:10-11) 10 And just a little while longer, and the wicked one will be no more; And you will certainly give attention to his place, and he will not be. 11 But the meek ones themselves will possess the earth, And they will indeed find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace. . .

Yes, there will be righteous people left on the Earth. These ones would not be considered "Born Again", as they would not eventually become a "New Creation" as a spirit creature. In fact, the Bible tells us how many there would be.

(Revelation 14:1) 14 And I saw, and, look! the Lamb standing upon the Mount Zion, and with him a hundred and forty-four thousand having his name and the name of his Father written on their foreheads. . .

They alone would be "Born Again" and become a "New Creation" as spirit creatures and not human.

So, it would not make sense for those of us who have hope to live on the Earth, those of the "second ressurection", to say we are "Born Again", when
only those in heaven could have that close relationship with Christ. We can, however, show our allegience with Christ by supporting those chosen, or "annointed ones", in their ministry and submitting to their rulership when in heaven with Christ.

So, by saying that anybody who believes in Jesus Christ must be "Born Again" is missing the point of the letter of 1 John, which is addressed to those who are Annointed. Remeber, the demons believe that Jesus is the Christ.

(James 2:19) 19 You believe there is one God, do you? You are doing quite well. And yet the demons believe and shudder. . .

So, are you saying that the demons are "Born Again", too? They believe, don't they? We might view 1 John 5:1 in the same light as Matthew 5:48.

(Matthew 5:48) . . .YOU must accordingly be perfect, as YOUR heavenly Father is perfect.

Would any Christians profess to be "perfect" now? Especially as perfect as God? Does that mean they are not truly Christians? The key is in understanding the meaning of the scripture and not taking it at face value.

So, to sum it up for those who may not understand, since I plan on living on the Earth after Armageddon and not with Jesus in Heaven, I could not honestly claim that I am "Born Again". It does not mean that I do not accept Jesus as my savior. It means that I accept the arrangement that God has set up for the majority of mankind.

I'm not a Jehovah's Witness, but Witnesses place emphasis on salvation by works rather than by faith. They believe that they don't need a savior if they live good lives, doing the will of Jehovah. Not to sound ignorant or hateful, but Jehovah's Witnesses tend to ignore alot of the verses in the Bible which directly say "Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world". For instance, in the Gospel of John verse 1, chapter 1 (John 1:1), it is translated in the King James Version of the Bible as "In the beginning was the Word, the Word was with God, and the Word was God". The New World Translation (the version of the Bible published by the Watchertower, the central body of the Jehovah's Witnesses), however, translates that same verse "In the beginning was the Word, the Word was with God, and the Word was a god." Jehovah's Witnesses say they are Restorationists. Restorationists believe that they are practicing what they believe the first Christians practiced. Jehovah's Witnesses believe that the original Christians were non-Trinitarians who believed Jesus was a prophet, but not divine. They believe that Jesus as Savior and Jesus as God were added during the Great Apostasy (the Jehovah's Witness term for the era after the death of the apostles, in which large apostasies occured), and as such, reject those doctrines. From my understanding, Jehovah's Witnesses only believe in the parts of the Bible that they believe to be true. Jehovah's Witnesses are basically practicing Judaism with the New Testament as secondary Scripture.

I HAD a stepmom that was a Witness, and I never understood any of their beliefs and ways of thinking...I know they pick and choose what they want to believe and all that and with that verse, I'm a Lutheran, and I strongly believe in John 5:1...That question would probably never get an actual answer from a witness, I have questiined my stepmom about things such as that and I never really got an ACTUAL answer...I hope you find what you are looking for...

We do accept Jesus as our Saviour and as our now reigning King in heaven. He died for us so that we can have the hope of everlasting life. Some are awarded life in heaven to rule as kings and priests with Jesus and his Father in the heavenly Kingdom These are small in number.(144,000 selected by God and are called a little flock")and some will enjoy everlasting life here on earth (these ones are called "a great crowd of other sheep which no man can number")
To understand what it means to be “born again” one must know who are “born again.” Note carefully that, in discussing this matter, Jesus did not say that all who would gain everlasting life must be “born again.” Rather, what he said was that unless one was “born again” he could not see the “kingdom of God.” Now the kingdom of God is heavenly. Jehovah has purposed that the Kingdom be the capital or ruling part of his universal organization. Jehovah also purposed that a limited number, taken from among mankind, would reign with Christ Jesus as associate kings. For this sublime privilege they must be resurrected and given spirit bodies, since, as the apostle said, “flesh and blood cannot inherit God’s kingdom.” That the Father has set a limitation on the number of those who will reign with his Son in the heavenly kingdom is manifest from Jesus’ words: “Have no fear, little flock, because your Father has approved of giving you the kingdom.” The exact number of the “little flock” approved by the Father to be Kingdom heirs was not known until Christ, through an angel, revealed it to be 144,000 “who have been purchased from the earth.” This “little flock” of 144,000 Kingdom heirs, then, are those ones from among mankind who are “born again.”—1 Cor. 15:50; Luke 12:32; Rev. 14:1-3, NW.
Jesus was the first one to be “born again. So what does it mean to be “born again”? It means receiving from God a birthlike entitling to prospects and hopes for spirit life by resurrection to heaven. How is this brought about? Jesus enlightens us: “Most truly I say to you, Unless anyone is born from water and spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.”—John 3:5, NW.
The only ones who are “born again” are the 144,000, together with their Head, Christ Jesus, who make up the Kingdom. Now only a remnant of the spirit-begotten “little flock” of 144,000 are yet on earth. But they, together with the great crowd of other sheep, are unitedly proclaiming the good news of God’s new world. Hence it is a gross twisting of the Scriptures to throw open Jesus’ words at John 3:3 to make them embrace all mankind. This is because the vast majority of mankind who receive salvation will not be part of the “kingdom of God” but will live on the earth under the rule of God’s kingdom. For in addition to his “little flock” of Kingdom heirs Jesus has his “other sheep, which are not of this fold”; that is, they are not of the little fold. The number of these “other sheep” is not limited. Today a “great crowd” of these “other sheep” has been gathered into Jehovah’s New World society: “A great crowd, which no man was able to number, out of all nations and tribes and peoples and tongues.” This “great crowd” of people are not “born again,” nor do they need to be “born again,” because they gain everlasting life on the earth.—John 10:16; Rev. 7:9, NW.
This is where I want to be as promised at Psalms 37:9-11: "For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth. For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be: yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not be. But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace."

Because you're the only one on the planet who is right.
No one else would dare to sully your path. We are all apparently less fortunate than you, what kind of idiot wouldn't know that? Why would you figure that we would be so vain as to follow the path of one so enlightened.
We're not worthy!
Good luck with your self-righteousness, that should get you real far. Yup, real, real far. Far, far away.
