The front door (driver's side) of my 1995 Lexus ES300 won't open from the outside but I'm able to open it from inside. The last time I drove the car, I had my car washed at one of those drive through car wash machines at gas stations? Could this have caused the problem? Any ideas on what's causing the problem and how to repair it would be appreciated.

it is unlikely that the car wash caused the problem. I had the same prob with my 93 camry. take the door panel off. find the linkage that goes from the handle to the lock/inside door handle. the linkage has disconnected. The "keeper" is plastic. you will need to replace this with something similar if you want it to stay.

Have you ever locked your keys inside and had to pop the lock? I did that years ago but when the police came to "pop" the lock, they didn't tell me that it would actually break it. I couldn't open the door from the outside eithter even with the key. I found that out from my mechanic weeks later.
Outside of that, there is probably a mechanism inside the door that has come loose.

take off your inner door panel and take a look... something is either broke or disconnected
