I thought it was the other way around for most people....

You know, I have "blamed" God when things didn't go my way. I was widowed in 2001, I was 31 and had 2 small children. I couldn't understand why God would allow that to happen. And I was going to church and very faithful, but I just couldn't understand how it could happen. But blaming God didn't change anything, bring him back or make my life any easier. My life went on as did the lives of my children. Looking at the world now, I am happy for my late husband that he is not here seeing all the things that are happening. I KNOW he is in heaven where his eternal life could never compare to the life on earth. While it hurt to lose him, I no longer blame God. As a matter of fact, I didn't actually blame Him for very long and asked for forgiveness for ever doing so. God does allow things to happen, that may seem horrible to us, but He always has a reason that works for a greater good, even though we may not understand it at the time. What good would it do to blame Him anyway? It still wouldn't change things.

I think you have this backward. Do you not remember 911. What is the first thing we heard. Pray for God to help our country. All over the USA signs went up. Pray For God's Blessings. God Help our country. Then it was less then a year, and all you could hear was, we have had enough of these God People(maybe not those words, but I think you get the meaning) It seams that when our country gets in trouble everyone wonders where God is. Then when things get to running a little smooth, God has to wonder where we are.

I credit God for the bad things, as well. I just think of them as God working in a different way than I would. He knows what He's doing, I don't. Something that may seem like a bad thing at first sometimes ends up being a GOOD thing in the longrun.

Quite a concise argument. The problem...it is a complete generalization. God is a guide for morality, not an icon for blame or praise. Our belief system is our guide and is responsible for our individual actions. The reason we fight over beliefs is because most people are sheep and can be corrupted by a force that uses a belief system to gain power. People must choose what is right for them, and society must decide if it is moral. God is merely a guide for proper judgement.

Mankind has MORE of a problem accepting blame when things go wrong. There's always some deity out there to take the blame.

I give God the credit for getting me this far in my life. I thank him for blessing me with a wonderful family and friends. If something goes wrong in my life. Than it's something I did. God didn't do it.
The Lord only guides you in the right directions. But you have to believe and pray. God doesn't commit the crimes. People do! He only helps those, who helps themselves.

Because the devil has to get permission from God for bad things to happen. Bad things happen for a reason. All things come together for good to those who love the Lord. It may be for experience so you can help others going through the same thing.

Because God gave me everything good - it is the inherant sin in people that gives me the bad. God gave me the strength and talent to win a game, but I don't blame him if I don't win because any shortfallings are my own.
