Hello..as you know the organism could stay without food, but not without water or other appropriate liquids. There are lots of Eastern and not only (Yoga etc) methods which point out the positive even healing effect of abstaining from the intake of food for some time. The real issue is not to starve without good knowledge and of course if you do this to improve your health it's advisable at any rate to observe you a doctor. So there are benefits and damages. For up to a week you canot harm yourself really..Good luck!

The process of fasting and internal cleansing is as old as civilization itself. In India they call it Kaya Kalpa, or the cleansing way. Over the years the body collects toxins and wastes. There are 3 ways that the body cleanses itself. Breathing (through the lungs-which have sillia/small hairs which collect the garbage in the air and keep it from going into the body), the skin (through sweating and the endocrine system), and the excretory system (toilet). However, waste still collects. If you are going to fast, as Ghandi did, drink massive amounts of water. You can easily go for a week, even if you are very thin. What is your goal? If it is to cleanse, then a week should do it. You will notice several things. Acne may be one of them. Your digestion system and your kidneys and liver will LOVE it. They can take a vacation. When you break your fast (which is why we call it breakfast) do it easily. Have a piece of orange and a little ground bread. Nothing complex. Drink a lot of water. Wait an hour. Then slowly enter in the more complex foodstuffs, which will also require a lot of water. Don't have a massive meal when you break fast, it will be quite hard to handle. Meditate. Consider your eternal life. Let your body rest. To not rely on things such as food can be quite liberating, if you have your head on straight. Some people are not mature enough to do it, so be conscious of what your body is telling you, and if you feel dizzy or disoriented, stop. It takes time for some people to fast up to a week. And remember, when you do this, all sorts of bacteria and microscopic friends (and enemies) are going to think that you are dead, so they will want to leave. I know this sounds wierd, but it is the truth. Consider this: Death Camp survivors and Concentration Camp survivors live a lot longer than the average person. Why? Because they almost died, so a lot of the unwelcome microscopic visitors they accumulated over the years left because an absence of new food is a primary warning to the invaders that their host is dying. So you can truly cleanse you body dramatically, but you must remain hydrated. very important. Good luck. I think you will find it very rewarding. However, if you are very thin or older, you should always consult with a doctor before doing so. And don't do any drugs during this process-very dangerous! Good Luck

Probably not yet, although going too long with just water in not recommended. If you are trying to clease your system, try the Master Cleaser: Lemonade Diet by Stanley Burroughs. It has been 6 days since I have eaten solid food and I feel really good. I think you can go up to 40 days with this diet. Sometimes our bodies need a rest but I will not be doing it that long. The book is only $6.95 and it is filled with really good advice.

It takes a long time to have your body eat its slef especially if you are overweight. The only think i suggest is to take vitamins and go back to eating very slowly like start with rw veggies s you body doesnt go into shock. I wouldn't go more then 10 days because thats when our body's metabolism slows down tremedously,it will have a hard time increasing again.

People say that 3 das is a good idea to cleanse your body of all its toxins, I hope this isnt a weight loss tool. You will gain all and more back if you dont teach your bosy to eate slowly...Try freshly juiced veggies a fruit to get all your nutrients

O.k, here's whats going on in your body...water has lilttle to no nutrients, and though it can actually be healthy to fast (Not eat) occasionaly, to do so for extended periods of time will do more damage than good. Most people think that if you don't eat, your body will burn fat. Not true. The truth is that fat doesnt have all the nutrients that your body needs, only some of them. The body has a hihg demamd for protien, so if you havent eaten and your body needs protiens, guess where it will take them from? Your MUSCLES! Your body will literally begin to eat itself and so yeah..you'll lose weight, but you will not be healthy, or look goood. Same ol spare tire and cellulite. The only true way to lose the weight is diet and exercise. (I know...it suxx)

You might be! I am also having twinges in the middle of my uterus. AND last night I went crazy on a pack of beefy hotdogs in the freezer.. girl, I loaded sweet relish and mustard on it like it was the last supper. Then I wanted to puke all night I kept getting up feeling like I was going either puke or poop. I was confused. only to be false alarm. THEN here comes a clue for me last week on the 21st I spotted for like an hour then t was gone. Guess what else? No period this week! I am hoping to be pregnant I am 29 yrs old no kids. I hope you have a baby and love him or her with all your heart and soul. So many kids today are mistreated and left out of life If I had millions of dollars I would adopt instead, but you know you have to be rich to do that. So wait until tomorrow and test yourself. keep us updated!

None. As long as you are hydrating yourself (drinking fluids), you can go quite some time without food. 4 days is not long enough to do damage.

well, first of all your body will tend to use up all the fat it needs to make energy. If you keep doing this.... then your body will try to look up for more fat to burn. Once the fat is all used up, then your body will use up something else......protein in your muscles. Once that's gone....well, your body will use up something else to burn until there's nothing left. But this takes time.

Even if you drink water, you need to eat in order to use the calories for energy.

Calories are energy!!!!

You could die.

If you don't eat your body starts eating itself. You can die of starvation or even give yourself a heart attack.
