Ok I was raised by a christian mom and a muslim dad and people complain that I don't align myself with any religion but through reasearch I see that so many bad things come from organized religion espically them using to justify things that I don't find right.

Like with the current thing with muslim terrorist they truely belivie it's the will of god that they punish americans, etc etc. But it's not like this is the first time this has happend with relgion.

They used it to justify the proscutition and murder of jews.
They used it to justify the murder of native americans.
They used it to justify discrimnating against black ands slavery.
They used it to not allow other races into preisthood.
They use it now to judge other people even in todays time like homosexuals.

I see a pattern. Do I have any right in this at all? The only reason people changed some of these because of changingn times, so how could it change unless recent relavations. it doesn't make since to me, anyone?

#1 all organized religion is man made.... and religious zealots take their beliefs to an extreme.. insisting everyone share their beliefs or die.... obviously not an idea God would actually approve of...... these people are actually more filled with hatred than with the love of God... and are so twisted that they justify their actions based on their hate filled beliefs... it's a sickness.... that they spread like a disease... may God forgive them....

People try to use anything they can, especially religion, to have their way. When someone doesn't like a race, sexual preference, or rival religion they try to spread strong details about the downsides of the listed above your question. Mostly sexual preference and rival religion these days though, trying to say that a certain religion is a lie and trying to trap you and turn you against the "right" or "holy" way, and praying for people and telling them they are going to go to hell or some crap like that if they don't convert. Or saying that homosexuals are demons or something stupid, and that they can't get married because the bible said so when the original bible probably never said anything about homosexuality in the first place. It's all bullshit.

I guess those kind of people are just predjudiced. Why can't they just accept that there will always be freedom of choice, and when there isn't, it will swing and bitchslap those who try to stop it, people are their own person, they should be able to be a certain race, religion, be gay, be whatever they want, believe what they want, not what the majority of the population wants.

People are afraid of what they don't understand that is why they try to persecute the people with other ideas. They use God because they don't know what God wants. No one has the ability to completely understand the Lord; they use this uncertainty for their own means;thereby, going against the scriptures they claim to serve. The only thing that people can do is follow the rules and guidelines given to us through the scriptures. The only way that this could change is by understanding this.

I think its just human nature to take something like religion (which in all cases, no exception, was originally founded to provide the ultimate 'answer') and turn it into a tool of selfishness and greed. Most religious holy books, you read them and you're like, "Wow! That's really great! This stuff could change the world!" and then you go out and see so-called 'believers' have twisted it into nothing more than a method for them to 'get ahead' in life. And thats true for all religions, not just Islam or Christianity. So, I don't blame religions for ethnic problems, I blame their so-called practitioners.

I agree with Benrig's answer and will add that you will notice people that have little authority over anything will join a recognized group or formation to feel like they finally have some control. when they find decisions difficult, they latch onto power they need to make decisions for them that will leave them not directly responsible for. Many of them unfortunitly join the service. Some of them join the law enforcement, now a days they need prison guards to fill the billet of all the new compound buildings also.

religion is a good thing, although i think u should have ur own beliefs on all issues, instead of a mindless droid of the Christian Church. People should b free 2 worship as they please. However, that's off the point. Anyway, people throughout history have been trying to use religion for themselves and they're own benefits. Religion in itself is not bad, but the people who use it inappropriately.

Many persons take things out of context and some people are hypocrits and use religion to do evil and wrong things. They do this because they are hypocrits and/or they take God's word out of context or twist it around to justify something evil.

people only need excuses for the crap they do. they think that, if they shoot someone, and say it was god's will, everything is going to work out fine. i don't see no meaning in using religion as an excuse. THOSE PEOPLE ARE NOT PEOPLE

Because men are Human and all Humans are Sinners.

That is why I follow the true Church that Jesus left and teaches Peace and Love.

Even though all in the Faith are not perfect, (we are all sinners), I love the Catholic Faith.

It's not evil if it approved by God, and, sadly, most religious leaders feel that the elimination of non-believers is condoned by their God no matter what method is used.
