Go see a professional therapist: Chiropractor or a Rowlfer. They will be able to give you exercises or adjustments to help.

I need more info from you to have an idea of why it is back. What did they do in the surgery?

There's two types of sciatica. True sciatica is an impingment on the sciatic nerve root as it is leaving the spinal canal. "False" sciatica happens anywhere beyond the nerve root, often the nerve is being pressed upon too strongly by the piriformis muscle in the buttock.

IMO, true sciatica is best dealt with surgery, but even that depends on what is causing the impingement as chiropractic or massage could bring relief if it's not something like extra bone growth.

I had sciatic pain for over a year (not fun!) and acupuncture, chiropractic and Hellerwork (similar to Rolfing) brought me lasting relief.

I had 2 major back surgery's and there are a few things that can cause pain down your legs ; pain coming from your hips all the way down to your toes; sciatica pain; could be # one getting any kind of exercises like walking or swimming; and we all know those of us that have back problems; we can not be lifting more then 20 lbs; and sleeping on a soft or hard bed could cause it ; sleeping on your belly is a big NO; NO; I beleive if you are over weight this also can cause a lot of your pain ; also sitting for long periods of time on a very hard surfuce for sure will create sciatica big time; I hope and suggest if you have had a fusion in your back to go see your Docter who did the operation; Hope this helps you; DL

I injured the muscles in my back, never had an operation but I did take some MSM [2 caplets] and melatonin [1 caplet ] in morning and evening. After a couple of weeks the pain was gone. Now I take it maybe every two weeks. or when ever my back is sore. They can both be purchased at the drugstore.

You should check this sciatica natural treatment http://cure-sciatica.info
Normally, I would not answer a question like this as my expertise is generally in medication but I had severe sciatica while I was pregnant with my 3rd child (after having had twins) and I had sciatica so bad that I was finding it difficult to walk. I tried massage therapy and physical therapy and could not take medication
I went to the chiropractor and the pain was instantly relieved. My hips and lower back were out of alignment because I had carried twins the year before. On occasion a Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) can also work but they usually only work on one joint at a time - the chiropractor will do your whole back which works faster. Anyone who does not believe in chiropractors will tell you they are quacks - don't listen.
I don't necessarily believe that chiropractors can cure things like diabetes but they can definitely relieve some types of back pain especially if a pinched nerve is involved which is usually the cause of sciatica. Try a reputable chiropractor ASAP!

I have no idea why it's back. Try accupuncture. The Chinese have been using that for thousands of years. There's gotta be something to it.
