I am a christian so of course I believe we should have the right to prayer in school and in the government. I distinctly remember bible school teachers coming to the grade school when I was in the first grade (40 years ago) and they left such a wonderful impression on me. I believe no prayer is a lot of the reason for so much violence today. I also believe we should respect other religions. If I went to another country it would not offend me to see them pray in school, at a ball game or anywhere else. I think it is about time that the American People stood up and took notice, we are the ones now being offended. If we don't start fighting for our rights it won't stop here. We are going to be no more than a communist country if we aren't careful.

This country was founded on God - our forefathers had no idea that freedom of religion would someday mean it is Ok to worship false gods.
I, like many other AMERICANS (sorry but these days Americans are those who were born here and live here - not moved here and got attached to the welfare system) are tired of having to have kid gloves when we deal with other people who live in America - I don't care if they get offended - go back to your own country then if you get offended. If I went to YOUR country - I would most likely be KILLED for my opinion.
The part of mentioning Jesus - this is the reason we HOME SCHOOL now. Yes all you Non-Americans have driven us out of our own schools - Home Schooling was our only choice - or move - and that is exactly what the foreigners want.
Sorry to rant - but you did ask a good question.

Actually, you cannot mention any diety period in a public school. Or the lack of one. I don't know where you got the idea it was just Christ.
We are still working on the mention of 'God' period, and I think it should be there. Haven't you seen enough of what happens in other countries when a state supports the majority religion, or do you need some case studies?

well it depends what you are referring to.
if you are to say that at the start of school or a town council meeting their should be an announcement to ask for help in the name of Jesus christ then you would be violating others rights that do not want to do that.
but if some Christians wanted to get together voluntarily15 minutes before school started and pray I would have no problem with that.
the same is true for all religions

It's the separation of church and state, which was set up to allow institutions of government and religious institutions to be kept separate to be fair to people of all faiths. That's why this country was founded in the first place, for religious freedom from Britain. If a person wants their child to learn their faith along with regular school curriculum, there are private schools for that. I am a Christian.

You ARE ALLOWED. There is no prohibition from christians praying in a pubilc school or in government.
What you are NOT allowed to do is to force other people to listen to you...
Your position is based on a lie.
Look at the guy above me saying that he can't bring his bible!!!!
LIE!!!! absolute, bold-faced LIE.
There is NOTHING that prohibits this.
What the hell is wrong with you people? Can you not have an HONEST discussion about church/state issues?????

Well,I for one don't allow anybody to take that right away from me! I Pray where ever I am at,I just go to my Pray closet ( my thoughts) and Pray all day long. And you should be aware that it is not going to get better, but if it did that would make scripture wrong, wouldn't it? But that is just satan putting the pressure on cause he knows time is short.Take care,May GOD Bless You.

Everyone has the right to free speach and freedom of religion. But it is the people trying to use schools and the government to impose their beliefs on others that need to be stopped.

It is not unjust. It's only ORGANIZED prayer that's affected; whatever an individual chooses to do is not governed.
I could be praying right now for all my co-workers might know. And they couldn't do a damned thing about it!

No, it is not unjust. Religion does not belong in school. Thomas Jefferson even said there should be a separation of church and state.
