Does the other lack faith? OR does he perhaps have some unresolved sin blocking the effectiveness of his prayers?

Sometimes the answer to prayers is "no". Atleast that is what they tell me. Or maybe its just that one team is better than the other and has absolutely nothing to do with god.

I agree with the Nickster and hey finny. Answered prayer is not always Yes. It could also be No or Wait. God loves us so much that none of our prayers are unimportant to Him. He is always there listening.

To gamble, to bet, to express a competition is to tempt God.

God does not hear the prayers of those who are in the act of sin.

only those who are not in the act will he hear.

So when you buy that lotery ticket do not ask God to make it a winner, after the lotery is over then you can ask God for forgiveness for tempting him.

I just hope that my ticket is the winner!

"Actually, we were praying that nobody would get hurt!" --Ned Flanders.

It's a little thing called Free Will. First of all, prove that both teams prayed for victory, not the usual "Thy will be done."

Secondly, prove to me that a football game falls into God's will.

Thirdly, prove to me that God cares about sports. :)

God doesn't accept prayers about stuff like that. No prayers are answered, but both participants will have to answer some serious questions when they reach heaven's gates about waht they thought they were doing wasting God's time

I don't believe God typically intervenes in sporting events one way or another. I don't think he's answering EITHER prayer; but the outcome of the game is the natural consequence of the factors of practice, rest, skill, and teamwork.

God is not a genie. We are to pray in accordance with His will. Games are for fun. "Please make our team win" is not a legitimate prayer.

God gives all players the ability to do their best. It's up to the players who wins the game.

Do you really think God cares about the results of a ball game? He gave us free will and He gave us talents both to use as we see fit. We - or they (the players) determine who wins. Unless He can use the results of that game for good.

I would imagine that God is busy with the prayers of the hopeless
