It is not really possible unless one of his friend has told you that he is kind of into you. Otherwise if the feelings not mutual it makes their heads go to Jelly and they are unable to act how they used to as they can only think of that one issue.
I know this from experiences. You need to find out from another source without looking too obvious. I actually think if it is meant to me more than a friendship something will happen when you least expect it!

I'd tell him how you feel, He'll either want to be your boyfriend or stay as your friend. It might be awkward for a while if he says no but you'll get back on track eventually.

It may not harm your friendship if he likes you as well. But it may harm your friendship if get together and it doesn't work out. But then again, if you never ask you will never know!

tell him why you like him but then say sorry but i'm with someone eles get him to meet your friends and let them get to know him for a while and then everyones happy and knows each other

Just tell him, but say you are happy as just friends if he doesn't want anything more, so he isn't pressured.

First you have to make him prepared.like giving clues don't make it sudden give him time to think.and if he refuses tell him that you want to continue as friends.if you send his mail it's better
