My boyfriend suggested we get matching rings for our 3rd year anniversary. We live together. They are not really expensive rings at the jewelry store (the store with the little blue boxes). He found mine on E-bay! He doesnt know that I know that he got it off of Ebay.. I feel kind of cheated, that he doesnt feel that I am worth full price... which, by the way was UNDER $150 at the store and a quarter of that on Ebay. He makes a very good living, we live in a really nice house, he drives an expensive car... I am kind of hurt. Am I wrong? Should I tell him that I know he got it on ebay and that I feel cheated... it will cause a fight... He would be angry if I did the same... but I would NEVER consider it.

Its not how much an item costs that determines it true value. It is the meaning of WHY it was given in the first place tha tis more special. The mere thought that a man came up with an idea to GET a ring at all for an anniversary should show you that he loves you. Regardless of where he got it, he got it for you. I would not tell him you know where he got it from.
If you live your life worrying about prices you wont have a happy one at all- please just be happy he thought of you!

I would be impressed. Years before I met my husband, I purchased a wedding set for myself. It was a fabulous bargain and I couldn't pass it up. I love the setting. Over the years, it has appreciated nicely. If I would have left it up to him, he would have gone to the nearest store, picked up a set with a totally outrageous price and presented it to me. Instead, he knew where the key & passcode was to the safe and got it out when the time was right. It is not the most conventional way of doing things, but it insured me the ring I wanted and prevented him from spending too much. Isn't it really the meaning/significance of the ring that matters the most? Good luck.

hey gal,take it easy!!
trust me you have a very intelligent man,and he is very care full with his money, you should appreciate this instead creating and issue out of nothing!!
there was a talk between you two to buy the rings and not about the price and finally you got want you wanted and so how he gets it, for what price he gets it, you should not be worried about!!
and as you've mentioned about his way of living and earnings, trust me if he was not a money consious guy he would have never been able to make all that, that he has in his life today!!
so go and have a life dont think about money!!

Ya' know... if you two were married and finding yourselves able to retire and travel by the time you're 50 and still young enough to enjoy ALL the situations available to tourists, you'd be delighted that he'd been so cheap all your lives as to buy you the exact ring you wanted but cheaper online.
Get your priorities straight, child.

Yes, let him know! He was just being cheap, trying to save time and really not thinking about you and your feelings.
