I have not noticed that. Beef is usually pretty tough, since most places in Mexico work the animal before killing it, but everything else tastes pretty much the same. Only it is Fresh. They do eat chito, which is made from either donkey or horse meat, it is dried like jerky. Not everyone likes it, I guess it is an aquired taste. You should try carnitas, they are awesome! It is pork. They use parts of animals in some foods that Americans usually dont use. Like menudo, tripas, or tacos de lengua. But they are good none the less. Just try not to think about it.

How do you know you've eaten "authentic" Mexican food? I lived in Mexico for 3 years and never had an experience even close to what you're implying. I lived on authentic Mexican food and still do, preparing it at home and eating in the homes of Mexican friends. Where did you get yours and how often have you eaten "authentic" Mexican food?

This was really funny until it turned nasty.

I agree the meat sometimes tastes strange. However, when I lived in the mid-west, I went way out of my way for authentic Mexican food. A lot of it is really good.

You're probably use to crappy american meat that you don't know what real meat tastes like.
Or
Maybe you've been to an American Mexican food place. Because American Mexican food isn't mexican food. It tastes like imitation mexican food. I should know what mexican food tastes like because i eat it for dinner at my house every day.

There's nothing wrong with it, your just making another racist remark. What you are tasting is the spices we use, Mexican food is spicy mostly cumin & garlic along with some red pepper seasonings. The food is awsome and there is definitaley nothing wrong with it. People like you are just picky eaters. I suggest you leave mexican food alone. stick to your hamburgers and hot dogs.

Can't say its always hamburger is all it is.

Plus, they use spices that make the taste a little different.

Cows there aren't as enginered as ours too. We breed ours to taste a certain way, they may not do the same thing, and you are tasting wild cow; just an idea.

They use the same type of meat we do cow, pig; although lengua {cows tongue} is very tender and makes the best taco. They just use different seasonings and methods of cooking that make it taste so different.
