actually , oonce or twice in a week it so happened that i go to sleep but suddenly i feel weakness and then i can not sleep i don't know whether it is a gatric problem or other i don't what sort of check up i have to do?

it might be the way you are sleeping, you might have a bad matress. you might not be eatting right, or not drinking enough water through out the day. for about a month everytime i f eel asleep i would wake up about 2-3 times durring the night with my hand and half my arm throbbing and it would last for about 10 mins and then it would go away. i thought it was something wrong but i just realized that i was not drinking enough fluids durring the day and it would cramp uo while i was sleeping

Loss of energy and not being able to sleep are certain signs that something is going on you need to be aware of so you can do something about it.
Sometimes dreams can wake you up. It may be that you are secure enough in yourself or/and your situation that a long time problem is know bubbling to the surface and trying to get you to deal with it. Try and be aware of your dream. And capture how it makes you feel.
Also, it may be a physical problem or situation like addiction to a stimulant, coffee, candy or alcohol.
In other words, see a doctor and ask questions. See a counselor and ask for a diagnoses. See a spiritual adviser and ask for suggestions and so on. Talk to your wife or special friend. Ask if they have noticed anything?
It is easy to get into the habit of living on adrenalin rushes. A person can actually be an adrenalin junkie. One of the symptoms can be an episode of sudden fatigue. So, check that out.
This probably is good news not bad, but keep an open mind.

Did you mean a gastric problem? Try Advil pm, Tylenol pm is good too, but if you have liver problems or drink I would avoid Tylenol. If you get the benadryl "hangover" from Advil pm, take you a dose of NyQuil, you actually get REM from that, some doctors even suggest that prior to prescription sleep aids. Just remember that NyQuil contains Tylenol so don't take any other Tylenol for 4-6 hours after a dose. They can also give you a sleep study, where you go to the hospital and they hook you up to electrodes and monitor you all night.

Are you worried about some problem? Sometimes this happens to me. When I think I'm truly relaxed and resolved to accept a situation or deal with it, my mind/body 'says' otherwise.

A glass of milk may help you sleep again or watching a boring late movie. Actually completing the project that is worrying you or coming to a definitive decision about how a problem will be resolved also may help.

Remember The Serenity Prayer:
Help me to accept the things I cannot change; Courage to change the things I can; and Wisdom to know the difference.

Again, avoidance/denial of a problem is not a good solution.

Hey, get some melatonin. It is great and all natural. It is called 'SleepSense'. You can get it at the health food store or from the Internet. No side effects - good nights sleep and no groggy like prescription meds.

how do you know it's a gastric problem?

weakness? where?

have you had your blood pressure checked lately? and any recent blood work done to see how your chemistry is? if not drop by the doc, tell him about this... if he doesn't show interest.. go elsewhere.

something may be up.

do not eat alot just before going to bed. That can keep you awake
