Chivalry still exists... But television, music, and the desire to express ourselves uniquely have all pushed it out the door. It is unpopular... Sin is popular. Not sure exactly how it came to be though. I suppose it has somthing to do with how overpowering sin is. its an addictive drug which cannot be outlawed because the first amentment gave us "rights". So, unfortunatly, the masses cannot maintain self control and they lost chivalry.
If you meet a chivalrous man, marry him, and have a whole bunch of kids!! Then teach them all to be chivalrous too, and slowly you can help the world be better! :P

Hi I am Cheytelle, I too believe in a certain amount of chivalry, opening car doors etc! I feel that the sluts as you call them are harder work, only because the men want only one thing from them , and we both know what that is!..When on a date, it pays to sometimes make suble suggestions as to what you expect from that guy.EG: "I love it when a guy opens a door for girls, thats great isn't it? Suggestions like this eventually get through his head and he then gets what you are trying to say.Chivalry is still very much alive, dont give up, as nice girls do win.It just takes a bit of expertise & practice on how to make subtle comments, it's an art all on it's own. I know as I have dated many men & am Now married, to a guy who does this . Also the previous guys in my life have done so as well. Just nudge in the direction you would like to , and watch it happen. The flowers will come, and other dinner dates ets.

Not true.
I open doors, hold chairs, etc... It is how I was taught to treat a lady.
So that you know, once when I was on a 1st date with a Catholic school girl, I was a perfect gentleman. The next day, her friend said that she thought that I must have been bribed to take her out, or something, because I was so polite. Quite offensive, to imply that to treat a lady as such, one must be bribed.
When I was dating the woman that I eventually married, we almost parted ways because I treated her respectfully. When I treated her like crap for a few months, she realized that kindness and civility were a better choice.
It seems that woman don't treat gentlemen well and men don't treat ladies well, as a whole. But take heart, there are still gentlemen out there. My son has, does and will behave like a gentleman. It is how he is being raised. My son will wait for a lady and my daughters will wait for a gentlemen. It is a better way to live.
Just take your time. You too will find a gentlemen that will appreciate your manners in kind.

Unfortunately it is a problem that has increased over the years due to the blurred lines of masculine and feminine roles. I have had women tell me that they don't want me to open the doors for them or stand behind them and slide their chair in or stand up when they come into the room. They feel as if I am treating them different and they don't want that. I do it because it is the polite thing to do and I feel the appropriate way to treat a woman. You are NOT too much work but unfortunately a dying breed!!

Sluts do not get respect they get attention, and in your heart of hearts Im preety sure you know that. Also society looks down on chivalry because it has been shunned for so long that people are often thrown off when it shows up. However there are still plenty of good worthwhile gentlemen out there looking for well mannered ladies. Keep your hopes up, mind open and eyes pelled; your knight in shinnin armor will come soon, even if he isn't super model material. Remember the guys who pass you up aren't worth your time any how. good luck.

Some guys may feel that you are too much work, but you will find that most guys want to be chivalrous. Unfortunately they have seen how time and again nice guys finish last and have decided that it is not a winning strategy. I know a lot of single guys who'd love to send you flowers. They're just used to having them thrown in their faces.
Sluts just behave the way guys are used to being treated by women.

In today's day and age women demand more equality and respect than we did in the past. We demand equality in the workplace, in sports, and even in the military. Thus, as men are forced to regard us as equals, it stands to show that men would see us as another person, rather than a woman whom they should put on a pedestal.
If you ask me, I'd rather have the equality and respect as a fellow (competitor, human being, coworker) rather than having doors opened for me.
LoL, when a man opens a door for me, that mean another door of opportunity is shut.
As for the sluts getting respect, have you seen how much respect men give them once the get what they want from them? Contrary to what you believe, men give the least amount of respect to a s.l.u.t than to a good woman. I know because I BS with guys all the time (as "one of the guys"). If respect is "Yeah we all slammed her one. Etc." then I'd rather not be respected that way.

Well chivalry is not dead but it is dying. Women want their independence so a lot of men feel that to open the door would demean women. If a guy doesn't open the door, then he's not chivalrous. If a guy does open the door he's a pig. Guys can't really win.
And this is from a lesbian talking.
(Hey my girlfriend is chivalrous sometimes)

Well, I'm still old fashioned. I like to open doors for women. Just need to find the right guy. Not all guys are the same.

It is too much work. Sorry, but chivalry is dead. I hate when guys pull out chairs for me or open car doors. It makes me feel like a baby. I'm grown and I can do these things for myself.
