i can not install my OS?

I have a laptop, when i start to inatall my os ,it tellls me that it can not cont. because it can not find the hard disc. What should i do?

sounds like either a bad hard disk, or its a high end laptop that requires drivers for the disk before it can load. If its a SATA drive then you need ot load the drivers from a floppy disk. The windows installation says hit f6 to load drivers.

If its not a SATA disk, then your disk is dead most likely.

if you can get into dos you can try to do a complete format of the system, this may help.

If this don't work see if you can see the hard drive in dos by typing Dir or C:\windows etc. this will tell you if the hard drive is Messed up.

You could try to run a command from the dos prompt CHKDSK /F this will check the disk for any errors and fix any found.
