YES THEY CAN. TAKE THEM TO THE VET AND IF U CAN GET A ZIP LOCK BAG AND TAKE A SAMPLE OF THEIR POO. I KNOW IT'S GROSS. THE VET WILL THEN SEE WHAT KIND OF WORM IT IS AND GIVE U THE CORRECT MEDICINE. BE SURE TO KEEP THE CATS OF TILE OR CONCRET BECAUSE WORMS CAN ONLY REMAIN ALIVE ON DIRT OR CARPET.HOPE THIS HELPS OUT.

You sure can. You should take your new kitten and a poop sample to your vet. The vet can accurately weigh your kitty, and microscopically examine the sample to itentify the type pf parasites. Not all dewormers are the same, and no one dewormer can treat for everything, so its a good idea to have a check first.
And as for "Animal Girl" response:
Chlorpheniramine is an antihistamine (for allergies) =not a dewormer
Orbax is an antibiotic (to treat bacterial infections) = not a dewormer
Centrine is an antispasmotic (treat vomiting, diarrhea, gastritis, and straining) = not a dewormer

Shelters and veterinarians routinely treat kittens for worms. Most all these young cats have them.
DO NOT do this yourself with OTC products at the pet store. Their medications are usually ones that are outdated or that vets have found to be ineffective.. Can even cause death.

YES!! Definately take him to the vet. When we got my kitten he had worms and we brought him to the vet and he was given medication. We tried four different types of medicine though. Ask for Chlorpheniramine, Centrine tablets, and Orbax if it doesn't clear up. That's what my cat is on and it seems to help.
