It tastes "more like regular Coke". I don't agree with this statement. I think that Coke Zero tastes more like someone put oil in a pop can.

Calorie wise, there is no difference. Its all marketing.

The only difference is in the sweeteners:
Diet Coke uses Aspartame (only).
Coke Zero uses Aspartame plus Ace-K.
Some people like the taste of the combination better.

And (according to the Coca-Cola website) it is intended for (and marketed to) YOUNGER people than Diet Coke. Not "men".

Diet coke tastes like not much more than fizzy water but coke zero actually tastes like coke but you don't have to feel your teeth coated in sugar so everyone wins!

Apparently it is part of a marketing plan as men see diet coke as a womens drink so Coke are using Coke zero to tap into the male market.

The only point of Coke Zero was it is aimed at us men as we were apparently scared to buy or ask for diet Coke and this is supposed to be more manly! It is just a huge marketing ploy!

It is a marketing thing.

If you have been selling something for a while, you need to change it to make sure that people keep buying the same thing. particularly if people don't actually need what you are selling, so have to be 'persuaded' to WANT it instead.

Sounds mad, eh?

Like all of that 'New Improved' stuff. If it is new, how can it be improved. If it has been improved, how can it be new?

Coke Zero is just another excuse to spend the millions of dollars that coke has to write off to avoid paying tax.

And, as Dancing Car pointed out - there is the gender issue.

The TV ads for Coke Zero is ALL blokes. Hundreds of them, doing 'blokie' stuff and whinging about 'blokie' problems.

Whereas 'diet' coke is something that girls ask for with their extra pepperoni pizza, large fries, chicken wings and a garlic bread coz it will make them thin.

coke zero is a waste of time and money, just like Coca Cola's bottled water it tried to sell a couple of years ago - it was just tap water.

diet coke has less sugar, zero has no sugar. but the chemicals are rife!

if you are going to drink coke, drink full sugar, full calorie, full fat, full red can! :)

Coke Zero is the new name for Diet Coke, I think.

Either way it's disgusting - best avoided!
